Michael Bearden Instagram – So heartbreaking to hear that one of my earliest music mentors has passed away! ⠀ ⠀ Some of you may not know who he was but, Ramsey Lewis was a jazz legend and a HUGE influence on my life! In general, as well as music!⠀ ⠀ I spent more than a few weekends at his home as a kid. I learned so much about piano and how to navigate the music business. And, just about life in general!⠀ ⠀ Ram was the epitome of class, dignity, grace and just overall elegance! Greatness! ⠀ ⠀ I think the main thing I learned from Ram was, musical patience! That comes in many forms. It’s the lesson I needed to learn. And, it has served me well in my long career. ⠀ ⠀ I already know he was proud of me, because he told me himself. I’ll hold onto that dearly!🙏🏾 ⠀ Healing energy to his family and all who loved him. I’m sad and gutted! 😞💔 But, so honored to have known him in my lifetime.⠀ ⠀ R.I.P. #RamseyLewis 🕊🕊🕊 M-
