Trained as a mechanical engineer, he turned to sculptural art after migrating from Tamil Nadu, India to Singapore. He is the co-founder of Gnani Arts–a well-known art gallery based in the country. Gnana’s works repeatedly explore the concept of attachment, while his figures, especially the bovine, point to nostalgic memories of growing up in an agricultural environment.
