A new community has been formed at @StJohnDivineNYC called the Community of the Crossing. In my sermon I talked about religious life.
“You’ve chosen to live in community together. You’ve chosen to be present to God and present to one another. That is a huge challenge.”

Grateful for last night’s opportunity to discuss the pivotal role of women in peacebuilding in Africa, and especially to be joined by my wife Caroline who has spent many years helping women sustain peaceful communities through Women on the Frontline.
Caroline discussed God’s call to all women and the principles of reconciliation training given to women leaders across the Anglican Communion.
The event was hosted by @fivetalents_uk, a charity who do some amazing work to equip communities around the world. #womenpeacebuilders

“Institutions on the whole are pretty bad at reconciliation ’cause they are made up of human beings.”
In this film, author and activist, @shane.claiborne and Archbishop @justinwelby discuss the roles individuals can play in racial healing and what institutions like the Anglican Church, or the Crown and Monarchy, have when it comes to healing and repairing the harm that has been done historically.

We’re excited that Archbishop @justinwelby will be sharing a reflection this Monday as part of @youversion’s series on the Beatitudes and what they mean for us. He’ll be reflecting on Matthew 5:9 – “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
The series has already begun so head over to the YouVersion app now to join in!

“Reconciliation and evangelism are so inextricably mixed up that we can’t separate the two.”
In this film, Evangelist, @sarahyardley, asks Archbishop @justinwelby how you take the topic of reconciliation and, in ordinary practical ways, share the gospel with people who are outside of the church community.
Today, on Peace Sunday, Archbishop @justinwelby is leading us through a shorter, simpler time of prayer.
At the end of a week thinking about reconciliation, fracture and justice, it’s easy to feel relentlessly responsible for tackling all the world’s insurmountable problems. Take a moment pause and receive again God’s grace and mercy.
