Hey Happy Father’s Day from @otterhoundranch!! We got a farm a few hours outside of LA and are having the best time with this lil tater tot. It’s so amazing being here and watching her become this cool little human literally BY THE DAY. I used to be consumed by career stuff, thinking that was going to fill some hole in my soul and make me feel complete, or “enough”. But it’s always temporary, ya know? The second you finish one thing there’s always another mountain to climb or accomplishment to chase. Being a father has been the absolute best and most fulfilling experience of my life. It’s the wholeness I used to think was in external things but could never quite reach. OF COURSE I love working and am grateful that I get to do what I do, but I don’t feel the need to define myself by it anymore, if that makes sense. I’m Dimity’s dad now, and that is more than enough for me. ❤️
This photo was taken on Sunday, Oct. 8, which was my TWENTY YEAR sobriety birthday. I am beyond grateful for that single decision because it led to so many wonderful things. A couple of days prior, I brought home a vintage guitar that I had restrung with nylon strings, reasoning that if Dimity had any interest in it that it would be better for her hands than metal ones. It turns out she DID have an interest….as soon as I walked in the house with that guitar, she ran up to me with a small toy one she has with the BIGGEST smile on her face. So we sat on the floor for a while and played. It was one of my all time favorite things ever. And by “played” I mean she smacked at the strings for a while and laughed and laughed but I have no doubt she’ll still be better at it than me in no time. 🤣 I’m grateful for @lydiahearst, our little bear Dimity (who turned 21 months old today!!!), and the fact that my sobriety gives me the gifts of clarity and presence for them and for moments like this. I mention it just in case it helps someone who might be thinking about it, on the fence, or struggling with it and might need some encouragement or a positive sign. ❤️ Anyway, feeling happy and thankful and hoping the same for you! 😃

So much fun on @jenniferhudsonshow last month! I told the story about the spontaneous 80s rock ballad duet with @tomcruise at Comic-con a handful of years back. Truly one of my favorite sdcc moments! He was so nice! And so is @iamjhud! Now I have that Foreigner song playing on a loop in my head, which i honestly don’t mind. #IWannaKnowWhatLoveIs

GUARDIANS 3 IS AMAZING. @jamesgunn, his cast, and crew have made a stunning movie and a beautiful send-off for this trilogy. Not just a fun, hilarious, heartbreaking, and action-packed film, but definitely the best third of a trilogy I have ever seen.
