Merdeka…
Apakah ertinya Merdeka?
Mengalir deras bersama pejuang Melayu.
Kita bebas…
Kita bebas tentukan hala tuju kita.
Kita bergabung dan tubuh Malaysia.
Kita bertanggungjawab kepada negara kita, kepada rakyat kita.
Kita bangunkan negara dan kita berjaya.
Maka aman dan damailah kita.
Kita bangunkan negara dengan pesat.
Kita digelar Harimau Asia.
Merdeka…
SELAMAT MENYAMBUT HARI MERDEKA KE-66 🇲🇾

When the Serbs attacked Bosnia, we felt that it was an unequal fight because the Serbs were more numerous and better equipped with weapons. Whereas the Bosnians were few in numbers and they were not able to get any weapons because the European Union decided that Bosnia should not be given any weapon because it would cause more death.
But we were able to send a battalion to Bosnia and they were stationed there and they helped strengthen the Bosnians and eventually the war ended and they had an agreement at Dayton which enabled Bosnia to be an independent state.
So they believe that the sending of our troops there to help them is very helpful and they appreciated very much what we have done for Bosnia. They believe that it was done during the time when I was Prime Minister.
As a token of their appreciation they decided to put up a monument in the form of a stone, with birds on the top and a quotation taken from my speech. They translated the quotation and wrote it in their language and inscribed it on the monument. The stone monument was erected in Kemal Monteno Park in Sarajevo. We feel that it is kind of them to remember us and our contributions towards their fight for independence.
(Note: They had sculpted peace pigeons on top of the monument as a symbolic gesture that Dr Mahathir is still actively participating on the world stage) Park Kemal Monteno

I was invited to visit the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) in Tsukuba, about 50km from Tokyo, recently.
The Japanese have been studying and experimenting space exploration for quite some time. Starting with small rockets, they have now progressed and are participating in the manning of the International Space Station (ISS) together with Russians and Americans.
They carried out experiments and send rockets into space on behalf of other countries. The UAE, for example, decided to explore space and commissioned JAXA to launch their rocket.
The visit and exhibition was very interesting. It showcased space satellites that had been launched. Because it was full size, including the capsule where the astronauts live, you are able to physically imagine these astronauts’ living condition.
The space station is quite big about 8 feet in diameter so they can walk about inside the space ship without suits because the climate inside is the same with that of earth.
But if they need to go out to do some maintenance work or something outside, they need to wear the space suit.
The space suit of course has got provisions for supplying oxygen for them to breathe.
I asked the President of JAXA, Dr Hiroshi Yamakawa and his team several questions. One of which is about the debris in outer space. Today there are about 50,000 debris in space which is actually orbiting the earth. I wanted to know whether it has any effect on our climate or not. There is no claim that it is affecting the climate.
Beyond that, I wanted to know how they can send a rocket into space and actually docks at the Space Station. Because the Space Station cannot be seen with the naked eye. Even with the telescope, it is difficult to see, but the space capsule carrying the astronauts can actually dock the ISS. Tsukuba Space Center (Jaxa), Tsukuba City, Japan

I would like to congratulate organisers of LIMA’23. The 16th edition of LIMA has been one of the best we have had since its inception in 1991. There have been many achievements since. When the idea of an air show in Langkawi was proposed, it was felt that there was a special need to showcase aircraft that would interest a region that is becoming wealthier and where air travel is not just a convenience but a necessity due to its geography.
I am confident that the LIMA exhibition will continue to improve in the future. It is a showcase for Malaysia, and the country has made significant progress in the aerospace and maritime industries since the first LIMA. I also hope that this exhibition will have an impact on the talent development of young people, encouraging them to explore opportunities in aerospace and maritime industries.
I have been asked why LIMA is hosted in Langkawi. We chose Langkawi because it has few tall buildings and fewer people. Additionally, being an island, it is easier to have demonstrations over the sea rather than over-populated areas. In my speech back in 1991, I mentioned that LIMA is not just an aerospace exhibition but also a marine exhibition. Combining the two is why Langkawi is the most suitable location for this joint exhibition.
Congratulations and keep up the good work!

Thank you very much for your comments, support, and criticisms. I hope to continue being of service to those who still support me.
