Home Actress Carson Meyer HD Instagram Photos and Wallpapers October 2023 Carson Meyer Instagram - It’s Labor Day! Here’s a photo of me the day I went into labor. I was 40 weeks + 2 days along, feeling ready and impatient AF! Little did I know that I’d be in labor within a matter of hours and holding my girl in my arms by sundown the next day. Expecting mamas who are eager to get labor started often ask what they can do to “naturally” get things going at home. Sure, there’s a laundry list of things one can try, but I’d invite you to ask yourself: Why the rush? Where is this pressure coming from? What might you gain from letting things unfold and trusting that your baby will let you know when he or she is ready? Many people don’t realize that the hormones that start labor are actually initiated by a protein released by the baby when ready for life outside the womb. Straddling the space between two worlds is not always easy but it is an opportunity to sink deeper into the trust and patience we draw upon for birth and parenthood.

Carson Meyer Instagram – Elimination Communication 🚽 This may sound a bit out there, but but our daughter has been using her potty since she was eight weeks old.

Before the advent of disposable diapers in 1940s, infant potty learning was actually the norm. It should come as no surprise to learn that pediatricians were incentivized and studies were paid for by diaper manufacturers to encourage longer use of diapers then historically appropriate. Always follow the money…

I must admit I was not planning on practicing EC but after reading and hearing from other parents we decided to give it a try. It soon made perfect sense why it’s called Elimination Communication. There is no training involved. It is all based around observation and communication. As her mother it’s my job to listen for her cues and then respond accordingly, so potty time is no different.

She signals when she has to go, I watch for her cues and bring her to her @babybjorn potty. She caught on instantly. I had been wildly underestimating what she was capable of and how profoundly complex the infant brain is. Our connection and communication has deepened as a result of this practice.

For us EC is not about potty “training” or being completely diaper free. There is zero pressure on her to use her potty and she wears diapers all day (and night) long. There’s no extra mess or work involved.

For some the goal is to be out of diapers by 18 months. We are in no rush. I will follow her lead and will let her tell me when she’s ready for that time to come. However, I am confident that the positive association she has with her potty will make for an easier transition and establish greater body awareness.

Carson Meyer Instagram – Every parent knows the power of the “redirect” when their child is on the verge of a meltdown. But we often forget that the wisdom of the redirect is equally valuable for us as adults and a tool we can all benefit from when things get tough.

Our children’s nervous systems depends on us. We can not expect them to find their center when we are not rooted in ours.

In a recent post I wrote about the mindset we bring to parenthood and how we can choose to approach the experience. It can be easier said than done. These are some of the ways I redirect my mood:

✨ Living room dance party (Lou loves this one)
✨ Getting in nature or just stepping outside for fresh air.
✨ Getting together with girlfriends. This one really makes a world of a difference for me. Parenting in community is how it’s meant to be.
✨ Getting out of the house to change things up.
✨ Dropping my expectations and obligations for the day and accept that productivity looks very different these days.
✨ Physical activity that gets my heart rate up
✨ Eye gazing with my babe and making her laugh
✨ A warm bath with @candthemoon scrub down and glow oil massage.
✨ Leaning on my partner to help me co-regulate
✨ @thefullestco saffron latte

What’s your go-to mama redirect?
