🚗 So this happened today – at the tender age of 53, I passed my driving test (first time!!). I couldn’t have done it without my brilliant instructor, Andy MacFarlane of Caledonian Learner Driver Training. It was really important to me, as a 53 year old former FM, not just to have an excellent teacher but someone I could trust and feel comfortable with – Andy was all of that and more! The whole experience has taken me well out of any notion of a comfort zone, but hopefully proves that it’s never too late in life to do something new. 🎉🚗

Today was a very different SNP conference experience to the one I’ve been used to for many years…but it was so lovely to see so many old friends and to feel the love of what is and always will be my extended family (even if I couldn’t escape a media scrum in the process). My heart will always belong to @thesnp💛💛💛

Rainy day writing. Penning a review of a book I have enjoyed immensely is a brief distraction today from the book of my own that I’m working on. As a reader I have immense respect for writers of books – now that I am trying my own hand at it, and understanding the challenge from a different perspective, that respect is only growing. 📚
