~Bill Geddie~Boss, Mentor, Friend, Colleague, Producing Partner I can’t believe I am writing these words. We texted 3 days ago. How is this possible? I am having a hard time making sense of any of this. I have known you for more years of my life than I have not. You started out as my boss who I was so in awe of. You and Barbara took a chance on me for your major network show that would change the face of daytime tv forever. You believed in me and encouraged me when I was a 21 year old kid at NYU and did not believe in myself or my abilities. You changed the trajectory of my life FOREVER. I listened to you and Barbara’s every word and only ever wanted to make both of you proud of me. Over the years our relationship grew from mentor to friend, to mutual respect and admiration as colleagues, to in the last 3 years collaborators and producing partners. One of the greatest joys of my career has been reconnecting with you as partners and beginning to create what we both knew was going to be TV gold. When I first approached you, you were hesitant but you said if anyone could pull you out of retirement it would be me. Those words meant the world to me. You told me how proud you were of my career and what a great career it has been and that you always knew you were right about me despite my unceremonious firing from the View years before. You told me how sorry you were and how sad you were to have to be the henchman. Time heals all wounds. Especially when the person doing the firing was as a kind hearted and fair a person as you were. You have to be pretty awesome a human for someone to still adore and respect you after an experience like that. That speaks volumes about who you were and who you will always be in my heart and my mind. The last few years of zoom calls and texts and studio meetings that you would drive in from your amazing life in the desert for have been so fun and heart warming. I felt like we had come full circle and we were finally home again. You would make me laugh out loud with you jokes and your wit and your no bullshit approach to everything. I did however get some first few weeks of school pictures and these first 2 shots are those. The following pic is the last day of school in second grade…I didn’t miss that thankfully. 🤪 And now today is her FIRST day of 3rd grade. Yesterday was the REAL first day but again like last year we were flying back from Greece so we missed it 🤦🏼♀️😅 Swipe to see this mornings pics and how much she has grown in one year. 💔 Where did the time go. I am half crying and half smiling while I write this. 🎀Barbies Haunted Scream House🎀- Part 4!!!!! Soooo….for those of you following my Halloween Barbie decorating obsession you’ve seen me create the pink pumpkin wreath, the bedazzled bats in pink cobwebs, the floating illuminated hats and bats, the pink pumpkins with bedazzled stems and now we’ve come to the final decorating installment ….or have we? 😝Anyway, this time I decided we needed to light up the house and make it POP more..as if hot pink pumpkins wasn’t enough 🤪. I bought battery packed hot pink lights to frame my windows and then used yards and yards of hot pink and light pink tulle to make giant magical 🎀Barbie Bows and then attached giant bedazzled spiders in the center. If you watch my stories you know that last week I went to an underground pumpkin warehouse in search of the biggest pumpkin I could find… 150 pounds to be exact. Who knew there was a black market for pumpkins 🎃 The pumpkin patches had not yet opened because it was still September but I did some recon and found a place that would sell me pumpkins on the DL for 1/2 price. Although, I wasn’t allowed to choose the pumpkins from one section that had already been reserved for the Kardashians. I mean….only in LA. 🤣As one of my friends on here pointed out…Apparently, I am in fact Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Ha! So, I bought 1 giant pumpkin called a Big Mac and two large ones called medicine balls. I decided to cover the Big Mac in Barbie decals in order to pull the theme together and so that there was no confusion as to what I was trying to accomplish here. I have had some neighbors ask me if I was pregnant with a little girl and if this was my gender reveal. Hahaha. I then got two pink spot lights and shined them on the house for a little more spooky glam and here we are!!! I know I said I would be done and this would be the final addition…however maybe, just maybe I could add more 😜. I have ONE more thing I ordered on @amazon but even with fastest delivery it won’t be here until the 19th. Until then, feel free to leave any last minutes suggestions in the “suggestion box” below. 🎀Haunted Barbie Dream House Part 3🎀= 🧙♀️HATS & BATS🦇. My Barbie inspired Halloween decorating continues. This time I added to the pink pumpkin wreath and the pink cobweb pillar covered in bedazzled bats and spiders by adding illuminated floating witch hats with pink tulle ribbon bows and more bedazzled spiders and flying bats to the to the scene. I ordered ten basic witch hats, 10 bigger bats, some fishing wire, tea lights, gorilla glue mounting putty and mounting tape and started putting it all together. The thing that makes this so cool is that by stringing the fishing wire thru the hat and adding the tea lights, it actually makes the hats appear to be floating in the air. This may be my favorite Halloween decorating idea ever. Tying the fishing wire around the tea light is a bit of a learning curve but once you get it down it becomes pretty simple and it’s just step and repeat. And it’s soooooo cool at night with the lights shining through the floating hats. I added more pink pumpkins and bales of hay to pull it all together. I initially thought that this was going to be the final stop on the Barbie train and I’d be finished. But are we ever really finished?? Now I can’t stop. I need more zzsssuzzzshh. I need more sparkle. I need more Haunted Barbie Dream House. So stay tuned for step 4 and the final BIG REVEAL! I don’t want to tell you what it is quite yet because I want to make sure I can pull it off! 🤪. In the meantime enjoy the work in progress. 🎀Haunted Barbie Dream House🎀 Part Duex. So last week I posted the pink pumpkin wreath I made for the front door and now I am moving on to decorating one of the pillars on my front porch all inspired by Barbie of course. Think, “What would Barbie do to her house for Halloween?” and that’s what I am going for. I started by buying a bunch of pumpkins in different sizes and 4 different shades of pink spray paint. One of the colors was called Bazooka Joe and it was making me feel all kinds of nostalgic 😜. Anyway, I painted all the pumpkins, let them sit out to dry and got to step two: BEDAZZLING the spiders 🕷️ and bats 🦇. I mean let’s be honest the only thing that says Barbie more than the color pink is sparkles. The amount of sparkly gem stones I have around this house is obscene but that’s what happens when you have an 8 year old girlie girl who loves to craft and when you spent a decade hosting a lifestyle show doing DIYs and crafts on the daily. I ordered the bats and the spiders on @amazon as well as some extra gems…because I can never have enough. 😝 I hand bejeweled 60 bats and 20 spiders. Alexandra did about 5 and said, “Yeah…I’m done”. Lol. Needless to say this was the most time consuming part of the project but definitely worth the pay off. Since I had so many extra gems I decided I would also bedazzle the pumpkin stems that I had just spray painted. I mean why not… at this point I was about to bedazzle my car. Next it was time to wrap the pink cobwebs🕸️ (actually pink tulle) around the pillar. And start sticking the bedazzled bats and spiders on it with double sided clear Gorilla Glue Tape. I placed the pumpkins on some bails of hay and there ya have it! 🎀💖Get ready to think pink because it’s gonna be 💗A BARBIE HALLOWEEN💗 at my house this year!!!! I got inspired with all the Barbie Movie madness and decided I wanted a pink themed Halloween. Well…pink and white and black…Pink pumpkins, pink cobwebs, pink tulle…black hats, black bats, black spiders all equally bedazzled. My house is going to look like a haunted Barbie Dream House (perhaps haunted by the ghost of Liberace 😂), but hopefully a bit more elevated, when I’m done with it. My first step is making a PINK TULLE PUMPKIN WREATH for the front door. I had lots of different ideas but finally settled on doing it this way. I initially got a wreath form and was going to go about it that way…but on the way out of the craft store I found this already made wooden pumpkin so I used that as my base. I bought 5 yards of orange tulle and 3 yards of pink, doll filling, 4 different type of glue including hot glue (because I knew I would run into glue problems as we ALWAYS did on home and family 😝), a staple gun for back up, twine, burlap ribbon and got to work.
