Iris Almario Instagram – There are over 400 animals at East Valley Shelter. We were able to help out 30 of them by cleaning cages, walking dogs, doing laundry & feedings. Our city shelters are grossly understaffed and overwhelmed. The constant intake of new animals dumped by their owners has put a huge burden on an already struggling system.
We have been very vocal about the new GM and the problems facing @laanimalservices and we couldn’t sit by and watch dogs suffer any longer. We had to do something. So until things can be resolved and more staff is hired we committed to volunteering every Monday at East Valley Animal Shelter. If you have experience handling dogs we would love your help.
Also, we encourage other rescue groups to spearhead this same initiative at the other shelters desperately in need. Especially those groups who have been as vocal as us. Please reach out with any questions on how to get started. @laanimalservices has eased up the process for New Hope Partner Organizations that want to help.
