#repost After months of begging for change @laanimalservices and a New GM we decided to put our money where our mouth is and offer our hands-on support.
After inquiring to @stayceedains a month ago we finally received permission to volunteer at the 6 city pounds without having to be one of their “regular” volunteers.
Our first day helping was last week and it sure was eye-opening. The shelters are severely understaffed yet overflowing with animals. Many on the staff really care, especially @xoloitzcuintli_mommy who welcomed us and was grateful to have our support.
While cleaning cages and walking dogs won’t fix the problem at large it at least provides some relief to the staff and love to the animals.
We went to East Valley but are hoping to get groups together to help at all 6 locations.
