Lisa Ray Instagram – I’ve been thinking about how to bring a more well rounded, authentic version of myself to this page. Albert Camus once said ‘The only way to deal with an unfree world is to be so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.’ It’s a romantic thought that I embraced very diligently when I was young. But as we all know women are held to different standards than men. And when I was finding my way, there was nothing quite as threatening an an independent and outspoken young woman. I paid the price many times but regret not a thing. Now at 51 I want to bring context and conversation to taboo topics like menopause, geriatric motherhood, cancer, mental health, eroticism in your 50s and how a bloody tough diagnosis can prove to be a second chance at life. I love raw, unfiltered conversations. Keeping it organic and real. What should we tackle first? Love to hear in the comments below which taboo topic you’d like to talk about.
Lisa Ray Instagram – Gaza’s largest refugee camp, full of children and civilians was bombed today by the government of Israel – please note how I am distinguishing the government’s actions from it’s people and citizens. I have both Jewish and Palestinian friends and bear only love in my heart for both. Sometimes I feel we are all just pawns in this malevolent power play. The justification offered was the pursuit of a single Hamas commander. There is no justification for bombing children and civilians who are taking refuge. Even in war, there are rules of engagement. I just can’t. Offering my silence in this forum for some time. It’s becoming unbearable just to bear witness- I cannot comprehend what people on the ground are feeling. This feels the right thing to do. Any comments justifying war and hate towards either the Jewish community or the Palestinian community will be deleted. Kindly use your own forum to express your opinions. To be clear: I am not pro anyone. I am anti-violence and pro-humanity. If you can’t comprehend this stand, it’s okay. But hateful, divisive comments will not be tolerated. May humanity, sanity and peace prevail. Thank you.
