Remember why you’re here – that could be as simple as being a light in a dark place. 3. Stay in today’s reality. Spend more time with your people without your phone. Put your phone in a separate room at night to remove distractions and get deeper sleep. 4. Create more than you consume! Get back to a life of creating, enjoying your activities and life giving pastimes. Bethany Hamilton Instagram – Life is a lot like the ocean. It’s challenging, its beautiful and it can change at anytime…

Competitive surfing is such a unique sport because it’s actually more about adapting to the conditions of the ocean than who you’re up against. 🌊
The waves might be amazing when your heat starts and by the time you finish, they could be super bad. Anything can happen – the wind can pick up, the waves can get mushy, the sets can slow down. You really have to be ready to adapt to what the ocean brings.

Pushing myself out there during training and competitions has taught me so much patience, grit, and determination because the ocean is always humbling me and putting me in my place.

These days, I’m finding other ways to chase my surfing dreams, fuel my “search” and stoke that inner drive to improve my skills! Now that I’m a mom of four, I’m focusing more on surfing with my kids! Raising children at the beach is not too bad, right? 😉
