Finally, I’m going to leave you with this. After all that and the review of my year I want to show what it really takes to live with my Disability. Hear is a real of photographs taken by good friend of mine and top photographer @isaaac.co.uk. In this, I am showing what it takes just for me to get out of bed and get dressed. I am only able to live my life and achieve what I can achieve because of the wonderful people who help me exist in this wonderful world. I lost some good friends this year and it reminds me to be grateful of every single breath and second we get on this planet. Despite how hard it is we only got one life and we have to love the life we live. there is beauty in the struggle and ugliness in success. Happy New Year to you all. #Disability #spinalcordinjury #represent #beautyinthesteuggle #carer #brave #photography
@davidholmes83 getting ready for his premier for “The Boy Who Lived Premiere” for @hbo These images provide a deeply intimate glimpse into the life of a quadriplegic man and the dedicated effort of his team to prepare him. This project not only sheds light on someone’s most vulnerable moments but also offers insight into the experience of disability. David has been a dear family friend for a long time, and I’ve known him since before the accident. His daily inspiration, as he continues to radiate positivity even in the most challenging of circumstances, truly amazes me. When he asked me to come meet him to shoot just the process of him getting ready for the premier I knew I had to. If you haven’t watch the documentary I recommend you do so to understand his amazing life. He was the lead stunt double on the Harry Potter franchise which then lead him to having an accident of the filming of the last film. Finally shout out to: @matt.genovese for assisting me on the day.

I’ve been doing this religiously every Physio session for the past few years. Not only am I able to sit up right without the excruciating pain of the weight of my head on my neck, but Holding my breath gives me a sense of control. I am losing more neurological function every year there is a real chance that independent breathing might be impaired in my future. 4:25 is my record and five minutes is my Mount Everest. #StillDoingStunts #BreathControl #powerofthemindset #WaterBaby #setgoalsnotlimits
Autumn continued After New York, I flew home and went straight into the London Premiere, a giant event, hosted by @skytv . It was attended by some of my old Potter cast mates, production team and friends and family. I was on stage in front of a few hundred people being interviewed by a childhood hero of mine, former Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huk. Two days after the Sky, event at my documentary was shown to the wider world released on #HBOMax in the USA and #Skytv in the UK. Since then the whirlwind got stronger, the outpouring of love and appreciation I have been shown across the Instagram and social media in general has been truly humbling. My story has really connected to people from all walks of life, able and disabled, and it has told me that there is strength in showing vulnerability. Words can’t describe how proud I am of my production team and of all the people that are willing to share their reflections on my life in the film. #DavidHolmesTheBoyWhoLived #Skytv #HBOMax #NowI’mFamousOhShit #Documentary #spinalcordinjury #LifeIsNotARehearsal #Gratitude #Humility

Out with the old in with the new
Winter continued There is not a single day, since the film has been out where I have not received beautiful messages from people, thanking me for sharing my story, and for showing, despite my challenges I still drive from Great things in life . Christmas came around really quick. I got to spend it with loved ones and now it’s New Year’s Eve . I am hoping 2024 brings as much life love and laughter as 2023 was for me. Yes, I am still living in a body that is losing neurological function every day. Only recently I’ve had to give up lifting my right arm completely. But I refuse to focus on the negative. I refuse to focus on the pain and I push hard in my life for the things I want to achieve for myself and the wider world. I also joined Cameo so anybody who wants to receive a personal message of encouragement or birthday wishes please search for me I am open to requests Thank you, everyone for following me on my journey for old Instagram friends and new ones. It’s been truly wonderful and I wish you all a happy New Year and the best for 2024

winter , I was doing more press interviews and podcast episodes. I managed to get to the end of the year and through all of the interviews without having too many slipups or getting angry at reporters who tried to rope me into conversations that are not about my documentary or my life in general. I did have one interesting hour-long conversation from an American journalist who was trying to give me a therapy session. Thankfully, I gave her enough material for a decent interview without losing my rag when she kept focusing on trying to talk about the worst day of my life back in 2009. I was honoured to be a guest of one of my favourite Podcasters @scoobiuspipyo as well as featured in amazing publications, like Conde Nast and NME. My documentary is now out in the world, and it has helped me reconnect to so many old friends and people who have loved and helped me along the journey, including the amazing staff who work for the @NHS, my stunt family from around the world, my Potter film family and my own personal family and friends.
So proud of my mate @georgejcottle and everybody involved in these two great movies from last year. Well deserved cleanup at this years @emmy_awards2024 congratulations buddy, love you xx
