The initial shock of the cold water hits fast and hard. The body is saying-Hey what the fuck?
Then as you settle in and accept the cold and breathe, the mind takes control of the storm, and the calm takes over. It’s exhilarating. It’s energizing. It’s calming. And it feels like healing. I’ll keep it short. Better late than never. I’m glad I found the cold plunge.
Quick story-I got a call today from one of the boys. Guy is one best talents in @wwe on one of the main rosters. I’ll kayfabe the name for his privacy. He’s 3 months ahead of me on the cold plunge and does it religiously to help his body heal from all the bumps. Seems more people are into this than I knew. Then I found out my neighbor down the street who was an amateur wrestler in high school uses the plunge regularly as well. Both guys said the same thing-Just jump in, dunk your head, and breathe. I’m in.

Pro tip for meal prep.
If I’m on the road, most often I will use gallon zip loc bags for my meals. This is 7oz of ground venison and a can of Lima beans. See the third slide for macros. The room has a refrigerator, but no microwave. So what I do is fill a sink up with hot water and let my bag of food sit for a few minutes and then flip it over on the other side to heat it up. On this trip I forgot my spoon. Rather than call down to room service and ask for silverware I just use a wine glass as a scoop to get the food out of the bag and drink/eat it. Works as well with a plastic cup. But man, that wine glass was pure luxury..
I partied pretty hard at the end of the year. Time to reel it in and get back on track with my nutrition. I feel better when I eat clean foods. I’ll have to hit a restaurant, or two, for sure. When I eat out, it’s meat first, and maybe a steamed veggie. Some of the salads you can order these days can get you in real trouble with all the shit that’s used in them.
Yes, maybe I could have called down and had a microwave brought to my room. I’d rather save the hassle. You can eat clean on the road if you want to.
