“When we learn about terrible things that happened in history, imagery of skulls and bones are always used to illustrate how truly barbaric the situation was.
To illustrate the barbaric nature of the perpetrators.
The perpetrators did not allow the dead to be buried. The perpetrators left the dead in the street. The perpetrators collected the dead into piles. The perpetrators did not think of or respect the bodies. The perpetrators were barbaric monsters who’s only purpose was to destroy.
One day in the future, when people learn about Palestine, they’ll see the images of bones scattered across the streets, and the barbaric situation that allowed for these images to exist.
One day in the future, when people learn about Palestine, they’ll ask us how this was able to happen. They’ll ask us why such barbarism occurred. They’ll ask us who the perpetrators were.
And people like me will remember exactly how this happened. And which of you, all of you, said nothing, and did nothing, and let my people die.”

My thoughts have been running lately. It’s been tough because my posts have been so heavily censored, and I found out I’m one strike away to losing my page. I’m going to just keep sharing, what I can, and connecting with who I can. All I keep thinking about is how we transmute our fear everyday to live and honor life. I believe in us. Free Palest👁️ne.
I have been unable to post, remix, or add videos that some folks have put me on collaboration with today- I am reminded again and again that these platforms were never meant for our global solidarity and brilliant organizing- we, the people, are powerful and though these tools will not be what free us, we’ll use every means at our disposal to make our movement stronger, and every time they work to stifle us it will be affirmation that we are threatening their power. Keep going fam. We are together and together we are powerful.
Repost @humanrightswatch
Meta’s content moderation policies and systems have increasingly silenced voices in support of Palest👁️ne on Instagram and Facebook.
Human Rights Watch found that the problem stems from flawed Meta policies and their inconsistent and erroneous implementation, overreliance on automated tools to moderate content, and undue government influence over content removals.
Meta’s censorship of content in support of Palesti”👁️ne adds insult to injury at a time of unspeakable atrocities and repression already stifling Palest👁️nians’ expression.

WHAT WE ALL LONG FOR IS TO RETURN HOME… To return to the ability for us all to know what being Home truly is- where home is a place we feel responsibility to, not just as land we must tend to, but we feel the responsibility to all others who also root there as home. Where our lives are in sacred ecology with all others that live beside us. Where we do not live with more or better than others who share home with us, but where there is mutual care for our home and the home that is each other.
As a colon👁️zed child of the diaspora, I have longed to reconnect to my Indigenous roots, so I could feel what it is to be grounded in Home across generational ties- to belong, to be cared for, loved as I care for and love my Home. I am in such deep contemplation of what it means for me to continue be here in the US where I have throughout my aging, been told that if I don’t like it here, I should go back where I come from. I wish it was that easeful of a process, to know home that I can return to. I pray for those who all know their home, may them have the means to live there with and for all those who live and all that makes that Home.
Thank you jenanmatari again and again for your deep reflections. They are so important for our spirits to unearth our motivations, our purpose, to fight for liberation beside you and your people and for us to call our people to do the same.
PUT DOWN THE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION!

there is no land of the free
no home of the brave
there is nothing courageous about
the great evil u.s.a.
nothing to salvage
nothing to save
of a government willing to kill
to keep their power close
pockets filled
and off shore accounts safe
i hold my breath
as the smoke of fireworks fills the sky tonight
over 80 days of hearing and seeing bombs drop on palestine
over 80 days of seeing over 20,000 people murdered by israel
and yet, occupied america
has the ball drop in cities across the continent
highlighted on mainstream news
with messages from israel
scrolling on the bottom of the screen
announcing that this will be a
‘long war’
my heart sank
as i curse his name
as i curse all zionists
with everything that i am
free

womb of gold
of abundance of light
of abundance of life
mothers do not bring life into the world for our children to be taken from us by war and genocide.
mothers of palestine have children to love them, raise them, teach them, and guide them.
mothers of palestine do not have children to one day have to scream and dig for their bodies under the homes they built and sustained for them.
mothers bring life into the world for the purpose of that life to be lived, fully.
and mothers do all this with the kind of love that the great creatress and creator has for the universe. for you. for me. for us.
mothers do not bring life into the world for our children to be taken from us by war and genocide

This is a prayer to cleanse and heal all devastation from the land
To ward off and end the contamination of the land
This is a prayer to end the mistakes done to all the land (and all the people)
So that the bitterness may be over
The ground will be covered with greenery, leaves and vines
And we may offer again our prayers of thanks for abundance and restoration

to be censored on this platform is triggering
feels like an abusive relationship
where you have to watch every word you say
where you have to walk on egg shells
lest you get punished for speaking your truth
placing boundaries at the four corners of your body
desperately reaching for the feeling that you had in the beginning
when all you’ve wanted was to be seen
to be loved
to be validated
to be treated with humanity
instagram says that my posts
“go against community guidelines”
that i can’t add too many people on my back up page
@h.a.w.a.n.e
because “they have to protect the community”
protect the community?
are palestinians not a part of this community?
my amplification of their voices
and my staunch stance and solidarity
has threatened meta
me, alongside the millions of people
doing the same
so they punish
like unhealed adults that just got older
not so much wiser
like abusive people do
when they want to control you
i’ve left every abusive relationship i’ve ever been in
i’ve dealt with narcissist manipulators
one in particular
who knew how to hurt because they had been hurt
knew how to twist stories to villanize
knew how to weave words to paint pictures
of untruths
who spoke about me and unveiled personal moments
to people i didn’t even know
some truly empathized
and yet that person kept talking
then just a few months later
when the cameras were back up on the mauna
they called me by the name they once did
and tried to talk to me
tried to write to me
tried to make like they didn’t just attempt to destroy me
my name
my queerness
my reputation
they sometimes tell people to tell me they said ‘aloha’
after telling untruths about me
after accusing me of something i did not do
after turning what was an honest mistake
into a story of intentional harm
got the elite friend group
to block me but not before posting about me
not before shaming me into depression
& social anxiety
not before coming to my island home
to the frontlines
to stare me in the face and try and intimidate me
hiding behind intellect
poetry
and shifting eyes
instagram reminds me of that person
of their abuse
of their harm
of their ugliness

reflecting on the community that i have become a part of through the years in this platform from this page and feeling so profoundly grateful for the connections we have cultivated and nurtured through so many movements.
this space has gifted me with pilina rooted in real solidarity, in sacred solidarity. i have always shared my truth, my personal stories, my views, and my stance on this page. i started this instagram around the same time i started @protectmaunakea. they both were inspired by the @idlenomore movements that were rising across the world. i was so inspired by the marches and drum circles. i felt every song and every cry for change. they inspired us to call for solidarity for Mauna Kea, and the world responded so powerfully and so beautifully.
& now, this page may be taken down by instagram because i decided to offer my platform to the amplification of palestinian voices. i feel like instagram is slapping my on my hand and putting me in a dark corner like i’m in trouble for doing a bad thing. and their reasoning is because my ‘content goes against community standards.’
WHATS HAPPENING IN PALESTINE GOES AGAIN COMMUNITY STANDARDS. IT GOES AGAINST ALL HUMANITARIAN STANDARDS.
WE WOULDN’T HAVE TO POST ABOUT IT RELENTLESSLY IF IT WASN’T STILL HAPPENING.
i feel a combination of frustration and exhaustion. thirteen going on fourteen years standing for the mauna and in solidarity with the indigenous people of the world. thirteen almost fourteen years straight but really 35 whole years of resistance.
i honestly don’t know what to do to keep this page and really am not sure how much longer i will have access to it. i hope that it doesn’t get deleted because it really is an archive of not just the movement for mauna kea but our very real solidarity with our relatives from one corner of this earth to the other.
pls let me know if you have any suggestions and or insight about how i should move forward.
no matter what
i’ll keep chanting
kū kia’i mauna
kū kia’i palesetina
a mau loa aku
instagram removed one of my stories yesterday
& restricted my account
then went on to take away the collaborator feature
which has been such a powerful tool in amplifying
the voices of our palesetina relatives
i have three strikes in the form of three stories being removed
i have requested for the archive of my entire page
because it is the archive of my entire aloha ‘āina journey
i hope i don’t lose this page
and i also will be starting another one just in case
no more war
is out on all platforms today
all proceeds will be donated
mahalo to @kaiboymusic for inviting me to offering my pule on this song and for @thesteppasofficial for speaking truth to power and our good braddah Willz at @glorysounds808 for all the incredible producing and engineering work.
nina simone told us that it is our responsibility as artists to reflect and speak on the times through our poetry and voices. this is our way.
pls download, like, share
solidarity is sacred.
