Opening party of the first-ever CleverDever Christmas Market Tour and Holiday Party is in the books! We danced, we sang, we ate strudel. Spending this past weekend in Gdańsk with three of the smartest, funniest women I know was exactly what I needed. . In a normal year we only spend time together working – they each host tours for my company in their home countries. . But this time they got to meet each and play together in Poland. I still can’t stop smiling. I didn’t realize how magical it would truly be to have down time together. Now we’re plotting our next reunion. . If you go to Gdańsk, Sopot is the ritzy shopping city next door. It’s filled with grand waterfront hotels, boutiques and great fish restaurants. . And did you see all of those birds?!? When I create cultural immersion tours, I also personally try everything I possibly can beforehand. . Your travel time and money is precious, and I don’t want any experiences on my trips that aren’t 💯 . Which is why I traveled to Bratislava, Slovakia myself to meet with vendors, guides, stay in hotels, and eat in all the restaurants that looked like a fit. . And you know what? I did good. I’m thinking: 🗓️7-Days in Slovenia next July, with a much more active itinerary than my foodie and wine tour. . ⛰️ at least one day of hiking 5-6 hours from one mountain hut to another. . 🌲lots of time in nature in more rustic accommodations. Possibly sharing a room or bathroom with your trip mates. . And then of course some time in a nice little chalet of a hotel in the valley where you can chill out, sit by the fire pit, try archery, sauna or just stare at the mountains surrounding you. . Anyone else come up with language salad when traveling across multiple countries? . I try to always learn at least Hello Goodbye Please and Thank you When I go to a new country, but after about country number three my brain gives up and just starts messing with me. I start spitting a mashup of incorrect words that are more confusing than if I had just spoken English. . But it’s good for the brain, right? Right? . Has this ever happened to you? 🙀
