Emelie Forsberg Instagram - Just one of my favourite photo of the two of us ❤️
So young we where! Cheers to life 🥂
Emelie Forsberg Instagram - Last week we became a family of 5 ❤️
The baby bubble is a nice place to be in!
Emelie Forsberg Instagram - 4 years ago I started CCC, but stopped before Trient. Maj was 5 months, and even though I felt strong and eager to run a long distance, I wasn't emotionally ready. A whole day without my little one!
This aspect too is important to keep in mind, and with our second little one I tried to find a better balance with this in mind.
@rachelraedrake just posted some important words about the bouncing back into shape- that is very different from person to person.

6 days to go- and I do really look forward to be out running a whole day! A WHOLE (!) DAY! So cool!

A precious moment captured by one of my favourite photographers @jsaragossa
Emelie Forsberg Instagram - 8 th in the World Championship ❤️
I had a good day out there, managed my race well, started controlled and was picking places along the course. I had visualised to run the last douche grade climb up to km 36, and that's what I did!
For me it meant very much mentally to be able to finish a long race like this strong.
It was beautiful surroundings and great atmosphere out there!
Thank you all so much for following this journey ❤️ it does mean so much!

Settling into life at high mountains is going well!
Our girls are adapting very well and I'm truly grateful to be here once again.
I will train very easy the first week, and thereafter I will hopefully increase speed and intensity.
As both @kilianjornet and I want to train, we did a great set up with Kilians mum and her partner to join our vacation here 🥰
Himalayas you got my ❤️

Emelie Forsberg Instagram - @sierrezinal_officiel thank you for a spectacular and legendary race, 50 years 🥳!

With my own race I can only say that I'm very disappointed. I couldn't run due to overheating feeling. Constantly stopped putting my head in rivers but the temperature didn't decrease. I was jogging but the system worked 💯.

But! Everything have two or more sides, and despite a bad feeling, I was happy to experience this race, and to meet so many along the corse. Bravo a tous!
Another positive thing is that my legs are fresh and ready to train for CCC 😆

Also very happy to know that heat is really my weakness. We have been doing different tests with @nnormal_official and what I can improve most is with heat training!
More info about this will come, as it's very interesting!
Thank you team for your support ❤️

Emelie Forsberg Instagram - Yesterday was a long run I had working towards and truly looked forward to. My goal was to run a whole day. My strategy was to push in the first climbs and to take the 🇨🇭faster roads easier.
After 5 hours I started to have pain in my foot, I have had it before but normally just in the beginning of the season. It got sharper and sharper and after Trient km 70 I decided with a lot of doubt to stop. 🛑
A DNF is mentally a very hard decision to take, and I feel like I will need to take some time for this one.

Team @nnormal_official thank you ❤️

❤️ for all your message. You cheer me up ❤️

Emelie Forsberg Instagram - We've moved our way up the valley and now have spent some days in the little village Periche!
I try to train as good as I can in preparation for the approaching races, but running at 5000 m is hard 🤣
Our girls are so patient to follow us on this adventure, all respect to them ❤️

Emelie Forsberg Instagram - Eiger 51 you took me by storm!
Longest race so far, 53 km, almost 6 h of running. One long big climb a beautiful stretch along ridges a long downhill, and a 7 km flat ish to the finishline. All surrounded by majestic mountains. ❤️
I hoped to make a gap on the uphill, wich I could! Then the downhill I might have been going a little to easy ( legs are ok 😂) as I feared the flat end stretch.
Congrats @elseydavis 🥈 @thevenotannececile 🥉 I was sure you both would catch me on the flat road 😅💨!

Emelie Forsberg Instagram - Some of the finest memories we have collected is bringing our little ones out in the nature. Hiking, skiing, biking, running. It´s about every step, not the destination.

It´s about stopping to look at the woodpecker, listen to the birds song, being amazed by squirrels running and jumping in the crowns of the trees, the wildflowers, how cold the stream is and thousands of more small but incredible events the outdoor can offer.

Here are some tips and tricks I collected over the years:

A mutli purposal stroller is golden. We got the @thule Thule Chariot where you easily change from bike, jogging and skiing mood.

A comfortable baby backpack.

Bring warm clothes and changes.

Bring snack. Snack often! And eating meals outside is a hit for us!

After a break the energy levels and stoke are often high again. No need to give up!

Be prepared to change the plan. All is fine anyway.

Talk about the trips you´ve done together so far, and how nice it has been. We also talk about how strong we become when we move our bodies!

Always always say yes when they want to go out! ( Even though sometimes I just want to walk our dog Maui efficient 😆)

Do you have any go to´s ?
A great source of inspiration; @familylifebythule

Emelie Forsberg Instagram - Some trainings are just better than others!

Mountain days was truly the base of my training until my pregnancies, then I wanted to prioritise pure training and efficiency. Because at those years, that's what I needed.

But now I feel like I'm eager to get back for real in the mountains ❤️
Thanks @kilianjornet for a good day out 😘

Emelie Forsberg Instagram - 5,7 ton Co2 was my 2022 carbon footprint. I used WWF´s calculator. Way above a sustainable 🦶🏻.

Being an athlete, for sure challenges my vision of how I want to live, accordingly to my values in how to live sustainable. But I have chosen to live this way and I will make the best out of it. We will continue to plan our travels accordingly, to reduce ✈️ as much as possible.

If I didn’t work with brands who shared my visions, I´m pretty sure I would have stopped travelling for races a few years ago, especially after our daughters where born. I'm lucky to live my passion and explore my own physical limits, climbing a mountain or running a race.

For me the highest priority is to be a good role model for the girls, show them how freaking amazing nature is, connect them to nature, to that cycle of life, as that is for me the most important, we can do; to create a bond to nature, as that will make us take care of it in the way that each person can.

So, don´t blame others who open up about their Co2 ( we athletes always get shit about this, as we do travel) don´t blame anyone, but if there´s some actors that can make impact it´s governments and large corporations.

I believe in grassroots power and making good choices, that might inspire someone else to make a change, to stand up, to sign a sustainable petition or ask the local supermarket to add more organic, or to make a village compost, or a community garden or, carpool, to run commute to work, or chose being more plant based, buy less, buy second hand, plant a tree.

The list is never ending.
My 2023 promise is to the little extra at least 1/ week, it can be going plogga, collecting plastic from the sea, sign a petition for a good cause, or anything I mentioned above.
💚

Emelie Forsberg Instagram - 2014 @kilianjornet and I, together with some passionated runners in Tromsø started @tromso.skyrace !
The first years we poured our souls into it and worked alot!
I was studying up there, and Kilian lived there almost 1 year, both of us love the mountains up there, and wanted to show their beauty to other runners.
Tge last editions we have not been the organizers due to to many other obligations but the soul of the race is the same ❤️2023 will be the last edition- so if you want to experience the race- go for it!

Emelie Forsberg Instagram - A week of " easy and go by the feeling" when it comes to training is so nice.. for a week 🤪
Now I'm motivated to start a good block again!
I have been working on our little farm, cutting a lot of grass, prepping some veggie patches for the autumn and winter, picked up all potatoe and some wood work. I love it ❤️
Time spent walking with our girls in their own pace has been the highlights ❤️

I wish you a lovely week ahead!

Emelie Forsberg Instagram - Himalayas might be the place I love the most except home.
We had some very lovely weeks in the high mountains, but to wake up home, prepare a coffee, go outside and listen to the birds is truly peaceful.
Here are some moments from home ❤️

Emelie Forsberg Instagram - Some moments from the autumn 🍂❤️
It's interesting the different energies the seasons has, and I feel like in a good balance and state of mind when I follow them.
Feeling very peaceful at the moment going with the autumn flow of training, soaking up the sun that soon will disappear and exploring new areas 💻

How is your fall? 💛🧡🤎

Part 2 of what I believe is one of the keys to longevity in sport.

I think what we all ( coaches, professionals, kids sports clubs, etc) should focus on the training. We need to eat enough and balanced to perform on trainings, and it's training you need to do to build that base, to evolve and compete at highest level.
I really admire the Norwegian triathletes and their coach when it comes to this approach.

I think we all are different, some humans can be OK on low body fat %, but some need more.
A good sign for us women is to still have our periods. If we don't, then that's a sign your body is stressed.
For me I knew I never wanted to risk injury or the risk of not being able to have children, just to loose some kg.

I hope for a future where it's more focus on being healthy and perform at top level. 💛

This is a sensitive subject for many and personally I try to avoid thoughts and other that can influence in a way I'm convinced is not good for me.

Emelie Forsberg Instagram - A warm winter greeting comes right here ❤️

Some winter postcards from home!

Winter can be magic. The dark. The cold. The season that tell us to rest maybe just a tiny bit more. Light some candles, drink something warm, make a fire.

I savour the dark months! Taking extra care of our animals, and getting real cold while skiing.

The bigger weeks of training hasn't started yet due to a family 🦠
But the one who wait for something good never wait to long- right?

Emelie Forsberg Instagram - High altitude while pregnant and with babies? It's time for a post as I've seen questions every now and then about it!

When I was pregnant with Maj we spent time at 4-5000 meter, I mainly checked my oxygen level in the blood and did not want to be lower than 90 % most times I was 94-96. I'm used to altitude and often adapt very well, so this is important to take in account individually. Otherwise go on feeling- if we listen we are good in knowing what's best for us.

Maj 6 months old tagged along with us to Himalaya and once again the saturation O2 we closely monitored aswell as her overall wellbeing- eating/sleeping. As I was breastfeeding it was also very safe to not catch a 🦠. Maj adapted very well and we went up to 4300 masl.

When Ylva-Li was 2 and Maj 4 we also went to the Himalayas, and we noticed that Ylva-Li needed more time to adapt to altitude, so we just spent more time lower down.

We carried Ylva-Li and rented a horse for Maj when we did longer hikes to move between villages.
Maj was a champ on the horse!

I think you just need to trust your instincts, make reasearch and feel prepared to change plans if needed!
We also have been lucky to have Kilians mum @nuria.burgada with us so that both of us could train well. ❤️

I still really enjoy bringing the girls on a run, even though nowadays flat is better than uphill. This is @thule glide 2!

Yesterday I ran @molde7topper a beautiful 19 km race! Going into a race well beaten after altitude and a harder 2 week of training at home was mentally hard, but I believe it was a good training! Now some rest and specific training!
So fun to see @yngsen crush the course 💪🏼

Emelie Forsberg - 30.4K Likes - 4 years ago I started CCC, but stopped before Trient.

So cool!

Caption : ❤️ Settling into life at high mountains is going well! Our girls are adapting very well and I’m truly grateful to be here once again. I will train very easy the first week, and thereafter I will hopefully increase speed and intensity. As both @kilianjornet and I want to train, we did a great set up with Kilians mum and her partner to join our vacation here 🥰 Himalayas you got my ❤️

Emelie Forsberg - 19.1K Likes - @sierrezinal_officiel thank you for a spectacular and legendary race, 50 years 🥳!

Emelie Forsberg - 19.1K Likes - Yesterday was a long run I had working towards and truly looked forward to.

I try to train as good as I can in preparation for the approaching races, but running at 5000 m is hard 🤣

Emelie Forsberg - 15.2K Likes - Eiger 51 you took me by storm!

Emelie Forsberg - 14K Likes - Some of the finest memories we have collected is bringing our little ones out in the nature.

Here are some tips and tricks I collected over the years: A mutli purposal stroller is golden. ( Even though sometimes I just want to walk our dog Maui efficient 😆) Do you have any go to´s ? A great source of inspiration; @familylifebythule ❤️

Emelie Forsberg - 13.5K Likes - Some trainings are just better than others!

Mountain days was truly the base of my training until my pregnancies, then I wanted to prioritise pure training and efficiency. Because at those years, that's what I needed.

But now I feel like I'm eager to get back for real in the mountains ❤️
Thanks @kilianjornet for a good day out 😘

Emelie Forsberg - 13.1K Likes - 5,7 ton Co2 was my 2022 carbon footprint.

💚

Emelie Forsberg - 13K Likes - 2014 @kilianjornet and I, together with some passionated runners in Tromsø started @tromso.skyrace !

Emelie Forsberg - 12.4K Likes - A week of " easy and go by the feeling" when it comes to training is so nice.. for a week 🤪

I love it ❤️ Time spent walking with our girls in their own pace has been the highlights ❤️ I wish you a lovely week ahead! @thule_family #bringyourlife

We had some very lovely weeks in the high mountains, but to wake up home, prepare a coffee, go outside and listen to the birds is truly peaceful.
Here are some moments from home ❤️

Emelie Forsberg - 10.3K Likes - High altitude while pregnant and with babies?

When I was pregnant with Maj we spent time at 4-5000 meter, I mainly checked my oxygen level in the blood and did not want to be lower than 90 % most times I was 94-96. I’m used to altitude and often adapt very well, so this is important to take in account individually. Otherwise go on feeling- if we listen we are good in knowing what’s best for us.
