It was only once I hit rock bottom that a new realization shifted my perspective: The REAL reasons I was struggling to find the kind of love I was looking for had been invisible to me so far in my life—and they had to do with more than just my love life.
In the years that followed, I went on a journey of exploration to find the answers, and I was transformed by the discoveries, insights, and techniques I’ve now put into this book.
I’ve become far more open-hearted, vulnerable, and compassionate toward others and myself. (And as I was writing this book, I met the love of my life, Audrey, and we’re getting married later this month!)

We are in the middle of a really busy few months, but we got the opportunity to go away with our friends for the weekend skiing. Me and Audrey have never skied together before, so we took the opportunity. We hadn’t bought any ski stuff until the night before, so we just grabbed a bunch of things in a sale in a local store, all within about an hour.
Doing this trip will also no doubt make this next week a little more hectic work-wise. But I believe that when the right adventure comes along with people you enjoy spending time with, sometimes you just have to make it work, however imperfectly.

Putting yourself back out there after heartbreak can be tough, ESPECIALLY when modern dating is primarily digital, making connection harder to establish.
But if we really want to find love, we have to be open to sharing ourselves. If we hide away from it altogether, love will hide from us as well. It doesn’t happen overnight, but going into dating does require us to have an open heart, even if we recently got really hurt.
