Social media has severely increased the JEALOUSY us creatives can feel seeing others on set, booking gigs, attending premieres…. It can sting feeling like everyone is busy & you’re still waiting for the phone to ring 👀
And then when you finally do BOOK a job, comparison creeps in.
It’s not as good as that persons gig.
It’s not as big as my last role.
It’s not as much money as so and so gets.
STOP 🛑 STOP RIGHT THERE ✋
Stop letting the jealousy creep in, letting comparison rob your ✨JOY✨
There’s 2 things to remember when you start feeling this way:
1. Social media is SNIPPETS. Usually carefully curated HIGHLIGHTS of people’s lives 🙏🏼 It may be some of their life- but it’s not the whole picture. ♥️
2. We are all on our own journey… Each of us have a different path to take. Some people may look like they are “winning” the race. But the truth is- it was never a race. Trees don’t race to reach the sun. River droplets don’t race to the sea. They grow and flow, doing their own beautiful thing.
Just as you and I should focus on our own adventure through life ✨♥️
