It’s always exciting to find these lil friends in the forest. I tend to pick one or two, help them along with their decomposition spore spreading journey,then continue looking for tastier edibles.
I notice a lot of folks who are afraid to touch, pick, forage, play with mushrooms in the woods for fear of poisoning or disrupting an ecosystem.
Of course I don’t advocate for over picking loads of mushrooms that you can’t identify, but I encourage you to interact with your surroundings. Look under logs. Skip stones. Rustle leaves. Learn through connection & interaction. You’re not a visitor in the forest, make yourself at home 💙
