Andrea McLean Instagram - Sooo…
I have just seen that Mr F put out a beautiful reel, with lovely photos and a tune that has made me cry, to celebrate the fact that 10 years ago tonight we met on a blind date that would change our lives forever. 6 years ago tonight we got married. And tonight we celebrated by making fajitas with the kids and watching I’m A Celebrity. This is us now, 11pm, glasses on, reading in bed, me with my retainer in. I’m putting this picture out because for all lovely photos and dressing up, this is where our marriage and our relationship happens- at home, doing normal stuff, and dealing with all the ups, downs, ins and outs that come with being a blended family. And I am so happy with that.
I love, and am loved in return.
That’s the greatest gift I could ask for.
Happy anniversary Mr F.
I love you. ❤️
Andrea McLean Instagram - About last night…

A birthday party to top all birthday parties! First time all dressed up for a long time, and it was great! Surrounded by people all there to celebrate a wonderful woman who has made us feel so welcome here and made the move a joy. Thank you Genevieve for inviting us into your life with such warmth and generosity.

Andrea McLean Instagram - 4 things I did this week to fill my cup that had nothing to do with work.
I haven’t done this for a little while as my time has been caught up with ‘mum duties’. Being a taxi service and making dinner isn’t very instagrammable! 😄
So this week was busy but good, with lots of variety and family time.
1. It was prom week! There was some last minute running around, but it all worked out in the end. We ended up with a house full of girls, mums and my parents who came to wave them all off. A really lovely moment.
2. It was @abbietuckerr_ wedding! The sun shone, the setting was perfect and I got to spend time with people I don’t get to see very often. Huge congratulations to Abbie and George.
3. I spoke at the @wisdomonwellness festival at the beautiful Painshill Park in Cobham. Although technically it was work, it was such a wonderful event that I loved every bit of it. It was a family affair as everyone came along for the day, (even @teddymcfeen) and we spent the rest of the day there enjoying the sunshine, the stalls and events. Thank you Alex and Mary for putting in such a great event!
4. My sister Linda is over visiting to celebrate her birthday! We don’t get to see much of each other as she lives in Ireland so it’s extra special to have her around. We ended the day at mum and dads, eating too much and laughing a lot, which is exactly how birthdays should be.
5. I’m throwing an extra one in this week, as I watched a brilliant series on telly that I had to share — ‘Colin from Accounts’ on BBCiPlayer. It’s an Australian comedy drama starring real life couple Harriet Dyer and Patrick Brammall. I LOVED IT. Warm, real, relatable and made me both laugh out loud and cry a bit. Perfect combo. 👌

Andrea McLean Instagram - This is 56.
I made it. I am happy about that.

I spent the day exactly as I’d hoped. With Mr F by my side.
Barefoot. Sandy toes.
Spoke to everyone I love. Got some beautiful messages from friends and felt their love.
Ate prawns. Snoozed.
Walked home and the two loads of washing I’d put out were dry.

Best. Day. Ever.

Andrea McLean Instagram - 4 things I did this week to fill my cup that had nothing to do with work:
1. This was a tough job but someone had to do it… Helped out Mr with his shoot this week. 😉
2. We went to the nicest retirement bash ever. Not just because of the beautiful location at the @rosewoodlondon but because it was packed with well wishers, two of whom gave the most heartfelt speeches celebrating an incredible career. I can’t wIt to see what you do next @andyppk1
3. I went to a lovely evening in London to support my friend @nickede with his charity @styleforstroke
4. And finally, pies in Putney! Thank you @emmab_radio for inviting us along, who doesn’t love a singalong? (Can you guess the song? 😂)

Andrea McLean Instagram - Real time Valentine’s Day with my favourite person and my bestest good friend… 🩷🩷

I love you to the moon and back. x
Andrea McLean Instagram - 4 things I did this week to fill my cup that had nothing to do with work:
1. My friend Andy popped in while passing through. He lives a long way away so we don’t see much of each other. It’s weird to think we first met at school 36 years ago - how in earth did THAT HAPPEN??!! It was nice to catch up.
2. Mr F and I went for a long dog walk which culminated in an unplanned glass or two of rosé and dinner outside in the sunshine. I’m glad we did it as it feels like we caught the last bit of summer.
3. I chatted to my son Fin on the phone for two and a half hours. It’s been a bumpy few years while he’s been away at uni (any parents of kids who started during Covid know what I mean). We caught up on all sorts of things - films, telly, books, psychology, theology… I think we covered it all! This was a snap I sent him mid chat to show him my view of Teddy.
4. We went to Notting Hill Carnival today! Growing up in Trinidad means it’s always pretty special. We got there early, I had my curry and roti, we chipped along behind a few bands then we headed home before it got even busier. It was Amy’s first time - I was around her age when I last went to Carnival in Trinidad, which is a strange thought! This week seems to be a reminder about all the changes that have happened in my past and present… an unexpected reflection.

Andrea McLean Instagram - Happy - Whatever Day It Is 😂

@nickfeeneycoach and I ordered some notebooks from Amazon to prompt suggestions and ideas about how we want 2026 to look. Now seemed like a good time to do it, in that weird space between Christmas and New Year where you don’t know what to do with yourself, and you’ve eaten all the Quality Streets.

It’s an interesting one this year because it’s literally a blank slate, for the first time in decades. It’s a very scary blank slate, but I’m reframing it as exciting. Because you just don’t know what’s ahead of you. This time last year I was in hospital. I most definitely hadn’t put that on my vision board! The months that followed led to a complete change of direction, in every way, and one year later, here we are in a different country, starting over. Looking at the blank slate. What do I want to put on it? How do I balance ‘needs’ (paying bills, supporting ourselves and our family) with ‘wants’ (what do I really want to do?)

It’s an interesting process, because I’ve spent so long in survival mode that half the battle is calming the panic that everything will fall apart, and allowing the ‘What Ifs…’ to be positive, exciting things that I dare to dream about. I’ve done challenging things before, I know I can do them again. But can I do them from a place of adventure and “why not?”

Today I’m asking myself, what am I good at, what are my personal traits and how do they match with my areas of expertise? And how do I do something new based on skills that have come from an old life?

This isn’t about New Years Resolutions, and exercising more or eating less chocolate, it’s about ME.

It’s quite the task, and something I’ve never really done before.

So, if this was you, what would you do?

Andrea McLean Instagram - 4 things I did last week to fill my cup that had nothing to do with work.
1. I went to the book launch of my friend @your_emmalucy brand new masterpiece on manifesting with crystals! Unfortunately I did not manifest staying long as I had to turn round and go straight back home as Amy got locked out the house and rang with 1% left on her phone. The few minutes I was there was lovely though, as I managed to catch up with @beckshumps - for the first time in real life! So nice.
2. I went for a facial at @dthomasclinic and felt very looked after. It’s a new discovery since our house move - I will be back! They really know their stuff when it comes to skin. (The session was #gifted)
3. Went to the driving range with Nick and Amy. This was one of the better shots. 🤭
4. I have started reading Cultural Amnesia - Notes In The Margin Of My Time by the late Clive James. I loved him back in the 90s and noughties, and for many years he was my secret celebrity crush because he was a wonderful writer (I devoured his books and articles) smart, funny and interesting beyond measure. You might remember him from the telly, he was brilliant. I was fortunate to meet him a few times and discovered he was also quiet and pleasant to everyone (even star struck weather girls, as I was then. I also stumbled across him at a tango class at a random, nowhere fancy part of London and saw he was surprisingly light in his feet! He would have been in his early sixties then. I last met him in 2007 when I was anchoring Loose Women and he came on to promote this very book, and the embarrassment I feel now at reading it is palpable. Perhaps it’s age - I’m now in my 50s, so closer to the age Clive himself was back when I first became aware of him - but I now fully appreciate what a life’s work this book is, something I realise I didn’t when I interviewed him. Like Clive himself, it’s not an easy read. Like him, like all of us, it has its flaws. It takes concentration, but like anything that requires effort is more rewarding because of it. I’m glad I stumbled on it again after unpacking boxes following our move. It’s been a joy to rediscover it, and him.

Andrea McLean Instagram - Having some #halloween fun with friends tonight. The theme is ‘red’…

Very impressed by Mr F in a dickie bow. 🥰

Andrea McLean Instagram - Stretched today in an empty room at the gym. I needed it as I’m feeling pretty crunchy after a few days travelling. My music of choice… Feeling nicely chilled now. Happy Saturday. 🩷😊
Andrea McLean Instagram - Not only is this the song of my childhood growing up in Trinidad, but it sums up exactly how I feel right now.

🥵 Hot
🥴 Light headed.
😅 Sweaty.
🤪 Head full of rules I don’t quite understand.

Yup. Just has my first padel lesson! I have played tennis for years so I ‘kind of’ get it, but also am a bit befuddled.

Andrea McLean Instagram - 4 things I did this week to fill my cup that had nothing to do with work
1. Mum and I went to my son Finlay’s graduation from uni. It feels like two minutes ago from when I took him in for his first day at infant school, and suddenly this week he graduated! How did that happen? We are all very proud of him.
2. Amy and I went to see @missmikasimmons in the brilliant play Disruption at the Park Theatre in Finchley. It is SO GOOD - a Black Mirror style multi layered moral dilemma. Loved it!
3. Had a wonderful evening out celebrating @chrisbaber birthday at @langansbrasserie with @nickfeeneycoach Just a great night of great company, lots of laughter, chat and fabulous food.
4. We waved off my lovely sister Linda and husband Rory and niece Meghan who have been over celebrating Linda’s birthday. I love spending time with my sis, she’s just ace. I felt very lucky this week. It was nice. 😊

1. I went to see we Will Rock You at the coliseum to support my friend @brendaedwardsglobal who as you can see was AWESOME! Surprise guest was #BrianMay - what a treat! It was an amazing night, not just the incredible show, but getting to spend time with our friends as well. Our goal of becoming more sociable is definitely happening!
2. This week’s telly show is @appletv #Loot. It filled the gap left by #tedlasso (I loved that show SO MUCH) as it is another series with heart and soul. I love #mayarudolf @mjrodriguez7 #natfaxton in fact everyone in it and can’t wait for the next series!
3. Sunbathed in the garden- thank you @thebodycampofficial for the handy hat. 🧢
4. Then we had more friends round for sundowners. @nickfeeneycoach makes the BEST espresso martinis and rum punch.

Andrea McLean Instagram - 4 Things I did this week to fill my cup that had nothing to do with work…
I haven’t done this for a few weeks as I’ve been up to my ears with packing boxes and then unpacking them again. But the house move is done and life begins again!
1. I went to the launch of an incredible good and vitally important new book about women’s health by @drnighatarif It’s called The Knowledge and I urge everyone to buy it, just to have in the home as a go-to for everything you need to know from menstruation through to menopause. It was attended by the great and the good of the women’s health world, including the lovely @michellegriffithrobinson
2. We went out to dinner with friends and shared an evening of laughter, honesty, lived experiences and shifting perspectives. A perfect night.
3. This week I’ve been OBSESSED with The 6th Commandment on BBC iPlayer. It was so powerful and beautifully done. Timothy Spall broke my heart. The whole story has stayed with me, more so because it’s true. So sad.
4. Today we went to a screening of the short film My Week With Maisy, directed by @missmikasimmons and starring Joanna Lumley. It was wonderful, as was everyone in it. I hope it will come to your screens soon too, it deserves to be seen by everyone.

Andrea McLean Instagram - 4 things I did this week to fill my cup that had nothing to do with work:
It was an up and down week that ended on a high, which is always great. Today was the nicest Sunday I’ve had for ages, it felt like every possible box got ticked!
1. It was my birthday this week! 54. Crikey. How did THAT happen? I spent it exactly how I like it, quietly doing my own thing. Went to the gym, worked on some things I’ve got going on, then spent a few hours cutting the hedge and mowing the grass, while listening to a podcast. Doing that makes me happy, and finishing the day with dinner out with the family topped it all off. This card from my friend Jane really made me laugh, it’s like me and @teddymcfeen !
2. We binge watched the whole series of Beckham on Netflix. If you haven’t seen it yet - DO IT NOW. It was excellent, so well made. I’m not a football fan, (I know all I know from Ted Lasso, that gives you a rough idea… 😂) but I found the behind the scenes footage and reflection of what happened during David’s career and their relationship riveting. This kind of documentary was never going to please everyone, which is fair enough, but I thought it was great.
3. We went for a LONG walk in the sunshine today and had a spur of the moment brunch with our friend @chrisbaber which is always lovely.
4. We played tennis! We were a bit ‘all the gear and no idea’ but it is always lots of fun. Even if I lose. Which I did - again.
What did you do this week to fill your cup? 😊

Andrea McLean Instagram - 4 Things I did this week to fill my cup that had nothing to do with work:
1. Technically this was a work type event, but it didn’t feel like it because it was such fun. I was interviewed by the very impressive @jo_elvin for her podcast ‘Fame’ as part of The London Podcast Festival. To be asked to be a guest on a podcast that that featured the likes of @jameelajamil and @amyschumer was an honour!
2. Afterwords Mr F and I had an unplanned date night in a nearby restaurant, which was very nice.
3. I took @teddymcfeen for a long walk today before it got too hot to move. I listened to @steven Bartlett’s Diary of a CEO podcast interview with @amycuddy as I walked. Such an impressive woman, and someone I’d definitely like to talk to myself one day.
4. We met up with our dear friends @nickede and @mrdrewnaylor for a long lunch today. We didn’t take any photos because we were too busy chatting, but here is one of us on our way home over my favourite bridge - Albert Bridge. There’s something so romantic about this bridge, I’ve always loved it.
A lovely end to a very hot week!

Caption : Sooo… I have just seen that Mr F put out a beautiful reel, with lovely photos and a tune that has made me cry, to celebrate the fact that 10 years ago tonight we met on a blind date that would change our lives forever. I love you. ❤️

A birthday party to top all birthday parties! First time all dressed up for a long time, and it was great! Surrounded by people all there to celebrate a wonderful woman who has made us feel so welcome here and made the move a joy. Thank you Genevieve for inviting us into your life with such warmth and generosity.

Andrea McLean - 3.3K Likes - 4 things I did this week to fill my cup that had nothing to do with work.

Best. Day. Ever.

Andrea McLean - 2.2K Likes - Happy - Whatever Day It Is 😂

Andrea McLean - 1.6K Likes - 4 things I did last week to fill my cup that had nothing to do with work.

Caption : 4 things I did last week to fill my cup that had nothing to do with work. 1. I went to the book launch of my friend @your_emmalucy brand new masterpiece on manifesting with crystals! Unfortunately I did not manifest staying long as I had to turn round and go straight back home as Amy got locked out the house and rang with 1% left on her phone. The few minutes I was there was lovely though, as I managed to catch up with @beckshumps – for the first time in real life! So nice. 2. I went for a facial at @dthomasclinic and felt very looked after. It’s a new discovery since our house move – I will be back! They really know their stuff when it comes to skin. (The session was #gifted) 3. Went to the driving range with Nick and Amy. This was one of the better shots. 🤭 4. I have started reading Cultural Amnesia – Notes In The Margin Of My Time by the late Clive James. 🥵 Hot
🥴 Light headed.
😅 Sweaty.
🤪 Head full of rules I don’t quite understand.

Yup. Just has my first padel lesson! I have played tennis for years so I ‘kind of’ get it, but also am a bit befuddled.

What 4 Things have you done this week? #4things

Andrea McLean - 1K Likes - 4 things I did this week to fill my cup that had nothing to do with work:

We didn’t take any photos because we were too busy chatting, but here is one of us on our way home over my favourite bridge – Albert Bridge. There’s something so romantic about this bridge, I’ve always loved it. A lovely end to a very hot week! #4things
