Here’s the goss … getting your pals together to roam around your hometown, kitted and fitted to talk about life is a great reason to start a Club. The future of @kissxclub will be focused on collaborations with artists and conscious creators across limitless platforms. This is our second launch and we proud to be partnered with @itgetsbetter 🌈 who are dedicated to empowering LGBTQ+ youth around the world!

This is my Bestie. She likes to bake but not eat the goods, serve plastic ice cream and prefers my hand to paper when colouring.
She has made me rethink the spelling of my own name even though her knowledge of the alphabet is sparse. She has convinced me carbonated water is enjoyably spicy. And she has reminded my 32 year old butt there is power in saying “no”.
Bestie is about to be an older sister, someone I always wanted to be and can’t wait for her to become. Her soul is about to intertwine with another and the question pedals through my mind: Do you think it’s someone she has met before? Or someone new? Someone all of us have met before…? Or…?
I think Bestie and I met before. In some other life. I wonder if she called me MLEE*
then too…

I used to go “ewww” when my parents smooched in front of me. I don’t know if parental kissing is still against toddler-law but in the 90’s displaying something so inconceivably gross and unsanitary was in direct conflict with my youthful beliefs. Contrary to my hard stance on the matter my opinions have since changed and now as an adult child of divorce I wish I could have bottled those cute moments more effectively.
Photos are a form of that bottling.
If I study the history of my photo taking it’s clear that the click of my film camera rapidly increases when I am surrounded by those I love. I starve to capture the fleeting moments. An insatiable thirst to saver – to remember with flavour – to preserve – to take a piece with me so I can show my future loved ones who I will, in turn, take more pictures of until I…
While this momentum of capturing perpetuates without pause, my internal mycelium network is vibrating out a confirmation that where I am is where I am and where I am is where I’m meant to be. It’s a feeling reserved only for presence and at the forefront of this whirlpool are those I love.
I’ll admit sometimes the camera can’t, won’t and doesn’t want to capture what the heart feels and yes I agree this has its own immeasurable value. In times like these I take the prescription of an inhale bigger than the previous as it’s another technique of divine preservation.
¡Here comes the sticky icky love part!
Since Riley and I have been together we have taken 1000’s of photos on 100’s of rolls of film (a conservative number I’m afraid to accurately calculate when looking at my year end expenses). The memories we have preserved are infinite but cannot come close to the number we have made.
Between the rubble and destruction there is such fortune in being human. We have the gift of language, opportunity, and when memory doesn’t suffice we have photos.
Go smooch your love and when you don’t want to or can’t because there is no substitute for presence take one breathe in just a little deeper.

I’m beyond excited to launch our new collection tomorrow. Inspired by the vintage pieces in our own closets! This year has sparked new ways to be creative, cultivate relationships and find comfort. These women are some of the people responsible for making it allllll worth it. They the Club. You da Club. XX
Farrah and I used to joke that others peoples children were the best form of birth control.* But since she and Robin created my new soulmate I must go on record saying we no longer stand by this statement. At the time it was our best “NOT YET, OVARIES!” and a subconscious effort to push away any societal pressures that were trying to influence our decisions before we had a chance to know our own.
Though the thought of birth still brings my fallopian tubes to my throat you can hear the gals and I gabbing about it between bites of tataki and sips of chai spiced cocktails as if it were brutal sorcery …because it is; Kids kick their way into this world covered in placenta and full of bloody f***ing magic.
Shout out to @happyveganbabyy who elevates my heart, settles my soul and has me highly invested in the bowel movements of her toy dog Spotty.
Side note : For those interested – just heard that the BC government will be paying for one-cycle of IVF starting April 2025. 💥
