.
Alex Crow.
My dear sister.
Her faith and capacity to continually renew and anchor herself in and towards love are a true inspiration.
A community builder, an effortless leader. She teaches so many of us through her quiet and consistent example – how to be loving, how to be gentle, how to allow others in (and what an act of generosity this is), how to honor oneself while allowing the current of life and not deny its flow – a mark of True strength.
Her prayerful and faith-guided courage to make the Great Ask to be of service has found her in co-creation with spirit, carving a path, crafting a curriculum and mission that is beyond words.
Alex, I love you.
You honor me with your friendship.
Being in ceremony together and bearing witness to the unveiling of your freedom and the flowering of your beauty is a gift beyond compare.
Liberation, dear sister! I celebrate you!
I wish also to send my love to the miracle that is the community around you. If you, dear reader, are among them – Thank you for loving her and lifting her up. I can not express my over-flowing gratitude enough.
Keep my sister in your prayers, friends.
She has much to do!
Her GoFund link is still in my bio and I would ask that you bless my sister with this type of energy.
Please support her young family as she continues her healing journey.
And – If you want to follow along with Alex’s offerings, her substack is available for you to subscribe to.
Catch the fragrance and the petals as they descend from her crown of flowers.

Spent a sweet and windy Saturday with @april_valencia of @masamemory at @zuma_canyon_orchids at her Masa Y Tamal workshop, learning about how to make Masa and Tamales!
It is always a treat to be around April’s enthusiasm and energy. If you have the opportunity to learn from her and eat with her – I highly recommend seizing the moment! This was her first Tamal workshop in Los Angeles and her stewardship and generous sharing of these family traditions are infused with care and heart.
Please check her out!
Supporting April and Masa Memory is money and time well spent because she takes great care to put the money back into the stream with those who are caring for these traditions, the health of our soil and foods and – in these ways – our future!
“MASA MEMORY, a traditional kitchen based in Los Angeles, California, is an homage to food practices that came before us, passed down and learned. The food we eat growing up influences us throughout our lifetime. Food is alive, the memory and story live beyond the kitchen and a shared meal with loved ones. […] Masa Memory is donating a large percentage of the workshop profits to our partnering farmers and farms in Arizona, Mexico and California. We will continue to advocate for and share about Ancestral Farming Practices, Seed Saving and Family Food Traditions.”
“Zuma Canyon Orchids
A regenerative farm, educational center, apothecary, and a center for the arts. Regeneratively raising a mix of livestock, vegetables, and over 50 varieties of fruit trees. With a goal to enhance soil health, while utilizing minimal outside inputs.”
Big thank you to Jeff @naturalresources from ZCO for the walkabout and chat. It was really cool to see the different ways they are working with the land there. Mulched Invasives, Avocado Trees and Coffee Plants, California Live Oaks, Macadamia Nut Trees and Natives – Oh My!
Student Highlight: Melissa
Melissa O’Neil has been training with WWH online and in person for 3 years. She has extensive professional experience in performance, fight choreography, stunts, and tactical movement. When I think of Melissa, I think of a person with an abundance of soul flowing through. Some of the final touches of mastery on a martial form include expression of spirit through the eyes, but this is where Melissa begins. Her cultivation of stillness and silence through tea ceremony allows her to be present through any storm. Her voice is evidence of the power of her jing, qi, and shen. It is an honor, and a challenge, to be her teacher and to search for that which still needs honed.

There is great freedom within form. Training with Wudang White Horse and Teacher Lindsey Wei brings me home inside my body while pushing and expanding the boundaries of what I understand that to mean. Studying in a firmly held container, with the sword, gong fu, sitting with the altar and the meditations both moving and still are medicines that bring me to a distinct and revelatory internal spaciousness.
Teacher Lindsey walks the narrow path of stewardship with great care and humility and it is a rare and precious opportunity to receive these teachings and contemplate these wisdom treasures in community and under her guidance. Each time I have left these immersive training periods I am humbled, inspired, renewed, filled with gratitude and eager to return.

a moment in time.
@quanyingongfu and I when a small group of us gathered in San Cristóbal de las Casas to practice together.
This came after many months of intimate online study exploring qigong, gongfu, taichi, and sword.
Recently, forgive me – I forget where, I heard someone talking about how an ailment of growing up and living in the west is this obsession with over-intellectualizing every last little thing. And that often what the wellness of our being needs most is to get out of our heads and into our bodies. Move. Move. Move.
Then Stillness.
If you feel resonance or curiosity I want to encourage you to head to her page and check the link in her profile for more details.
Brea is an attentive and devoted student, teacher, and artist. Studying with her is inspiring, renewing, and challenging in the best way.

A glimpse into parts and pieces of how we spent the turning of the calendar year.
Thank you to @findsanctuary for hosting us.
Thank you to all of the elements that provided for us so well during our stay.
transmission near the end of the reel received through @naturalresources
Not sure if I’ll make more content like this… it takes an uncomfortable amount of time.
May this inspire you to continue taking rest, get outside and build a fire – it is the season for these ways.
Love you.
what was left for clean up once the bowls were empty…
sending out a big love to the crew that came together for our Winter Solstice tea.

A Prayer on the Winter Solstice
“Oh day of least light
and longest night,
teach me what I need
to know about darkness.
Help me see beyond
my fear to the
natural illumination
that’s always here,
within and all around me.
May I be rooted in the
ground of being and as
the days grow longer,
may I celebrate the
wondrous gifts of life
and love and openness
to transformation. Today,
the boundary between
this world and the divine
is especially thin. May I
be quiet enough inside
to receive whatever
the mystery offers me
and send my gratitude
out to the solstice sun and
stars, out to the presence
that cannot be seen,
but is forever with me.”

Happy Holidays 🙂
However you have found yourself at this time of the year – I hope you are able to tune into that still point in your heart and to feel the light that is never apart from your being.
This last little bit has been very full for me. Lots of cooking, Tea drinking, and fire tending!
My dear friend (who also happens to be my agent) was in town for the holidays and it was very special to reflect on the years he joined our family for christmas in Toronto and to just be around each other, hanging out, giggling about boys, and being silly.
This is a little glimpse of our time at home, drinking tea, mini christmas eve ceremony under the stars and (the animals that were around us!) and a bonus pic of me looking really proud of the chicken I spatchcocked for one of our two neighborly Christmas dinners. (It was a hit!)
Wishing you peace in your heart and health in the body. Always. Xo

we are indivisible – in this collective body

Thank you to @co_cu1tur3 for letting me share this transmission. Stay tender. Stay open. Stay free.
“I have never in my life witnessed death, destruction, cruelty, and violence at this scale. So many us have nervous systems that are dissociating right now. We can tranform the energy of our justifiable grief, rage, and pain into generative momentum toward our liberatory movements. It’s not easy, but I believe it’s worth experimenting with different ways to process our pain so the system doesn’t weaken our bodies, our connections, and our resolve. ♥️🌺✊🏽” -@co_cu1tur3
