When your head’s a mess
And your to-do list is too long
You’d rather stay in bed
Just do a half-assed job
Your inner critic is very loud
You’re about to sob
Don’t do the hardest thing
Just do a half-assed job
You’re a perfectionist
You’re above the mob
Be among the masses
And do a half-assed job
Perfection’s an illusion
It keeps you trying too hard
Join the rest of humanity
And do a half-assed job
This doesn’t really rhyme
I’m teaching by example
And I feel really strongly about this
