Annie Lennox Instagram – Dear Friends, This is one of the many reasons I have been deeply concerned about since the terrible events of Oct 7th, when it was clear that Israel would retaliate. Violence begets violence with never ending cycles of attack then ‘attack back’ – retribution – vendetta and revenge. As average citizens we don’t necessarily know the political, military and financial intrigue behind the scenes..Basically I believe all most people want is ‘peace’ and ‘security’. I wish ‘peace’ for Israelis as much as I wish ‘peace’ for Palestinians and now this conflict of interests is beginning to spread, as I always dreaded it might. This world is under the worst kind of threat, with climate change and global warming. We need peaceful co-operation between countries more than ever, but WAR becomes the diversion and distraction away from the ultimate existential crisis. Such a shameful travesty.
