Annie Lennox Instagram – Dear Friends, Today marks one year since the tragic outbreak of conflict in Sudan. I’ve joined The Circle @thecirclengo in writing to British Foreign Secretary, David Cameron, to demand that more action be taken to bring an end to this war. Considered to be the world’s largest displacement crisis, with approx NINE MILLION people fleeing their homes – the conflict in Sudan has largely gone unnoticed. ​ As usual, women and girls are bearing the brunt of the conflict, with sexual and gender-based violence being perpetrated by all parties in the conflict, and widespread across the country. ​ As the penholder on Sudan at the UN Security Council, the UK leads the Council’s negotiations and resolutions on the country.​ Along with other figures from the ‘Arts’ we are calling for the UK government – and other key states – to put meaningful pressure on the warring parties and the states that sponsor them – to stop this tragic war.​ Love Annie Read the open letter on @thecirclengo​ #KeepEyesOnSudan
