A quick look back at today’s @londonmarathon. Some brilliant highs (a fair few lows) but I finished it without stopping once, and all to raise money for the brilliant @national_migraine_centre. There’s still time to donate so please do (my aching legs would appreciate it!!) and the link is in my bio 🏃♀️ #migraine #migrainewarrior #migraineawareness

Working on my speech for the migraine debate I have secured on Wednesday. If you have experiences you’d like to share, please drop me an email on [email protected] #migraine #chronicmigraine
Time for finishing touches to the speech!
Nine years today since the most brilliant, most energetic, most inspirational woman I’ve ever known left us. I still miss her every day – usually when something has made me laugh and I know she’d be giggling too. ❤️
YOUR CONSERVATIVE PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATE 🌳 I am thrilled that the fantastic Jane MacBean for Bishop Auckland has recently been selected as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for the new Bishop Auckland constituency. Jane’s tenacity, energy, and extensive experience will be crucial for helping make our community even better. She has really hit the ground running with a great start to her campaign. We are already working closely together, and she will have my full support right through to the General Election and beyond. If you want to help keep Bishop Blue, please do sign up to support Jane and join her this weekend in Stanhope.👇🏻 https://volunteer.conservatives.com/walking2win_bishopauckland_160324_morning?deliveryName=DM37864
On my way, bright and breezy, to the BBC studios to beam into @bbcbreakfast to discuss my debate today on access to migraine treatment. Will be live around 0710, and the debate starts at 0930 on parliamentlive.tv
Today Parliament held its first debate on migraine in over 60 years! With 10 million people in the UK living with migraine, I was so pleased to have been able to secure this very important Westminster Hall Debate today, and welcome so many amazing people to Parliament to watch it from the gallery. A massive thanks to those at The Migraine Trust and National Migraine Centre and everyone who travelled down to play a part in it. We raised the serious issues so many are facing with accessing effective treatments, and I am pleased that the Minister has agreed to meet me and the two brilliant charities I’m working with to see what steps we can take to improve access. There’s much more to do, but this is a step in the right direction in ensuring the millions of people across the UK that suffer from migraine are able to live a life free from pain.

A quick update following yesterday’s debate!
And zen.
As some of you might remember, I have been working on a campaign to secure funding for Lobular Cancer research ever since my constituent Katie raised this with me over the summer last year. Since then, with the help of Katie, Jeremy Quin and the amazing Susan and Tristan from the Lobular Moonshot Project, we have been able to raise the profile of the campaign gaining the support of over a third of MPs as well as raising our mission to the Health Secretary, Chancellor, and Ministers. This week we met Andrew Griffith, the Science Minister, to talk about the need for initial research into the basic biology of lobular, and the campaign took another step in the right direction. I am grateful to him for taking the time to see us and look forward to working together to hopefully see the meaningful and life changing funding to ensure those with lobular cancer get the early diagnosis and effective treatment needed to save their lives.

Absolutely amazing to see some fantastic business from County Durham here in Parliament this week for the “Canny taste of County Durham” event. It was especially lovely to see Lisa from Loopy Lisa’s Fudge, a wonderful local business, as well as chat to her son. I hope you enjoyed your time here in Parliament!
