Padma Lakshmi Instagram – Sometimes what you need is to disconnect so that you can connect with your loved one. Littlehands and I were invited to visit a very special wellness center and magical place called @rancholapuerta in Tecate, Mexico for spring break last week. It was gorgeous. We saw magnificent views while hiking every day at the crack of dawn. We also did hip hop exercise classes, Pilates, water flow therapy and aerial yoga. The food was simply made and vegetable forward. Mostly vegetarian with a smattering of eggs, dairy and fish upon request.  They have a wonderful farm where they grow their vegetables as well as goats for cheese. Everyone was super friendly and you really felt a sense of community. It’s been going for 84 years now and the founder Deborah Szekely will celebrate her 102nd birthday next month when she plans to come to NYC to see a few broadway shows. I hope I am as energetic and make it to her age! All in all it was a week in the outdoors hiking and bonding with no internet or television, and plenty of sunshine. #rancholapuertapartner
