I’ve been told by former celeb friends that “social media isn’t real life” as to whether or not we support each other. THIS I believe is true (to an extent). SO MY COMPROMISE? I tell each of them that they have my phone number if they are ever in trouble and need me, I’ll be there. But since social media doesn’t matter then you won’t mind me unfollowing and blocking you.
Disturbing to see the peaceful protests at Morehouse being unfairly compared to other campus protests. Let’s not forget that it’s often the authorities who escalate and incite violence.

I just wanted to take a moment and talk to you all about why maintaining a winner’s mindset is crucial. I mean, very important right now, especially during such a heartbreaking and tumultuous time. I know it might seem strange for me to be talking about winning when so many lives are being lost due to this ongoing genocide in Palestine. But I want to share a perspective that I believe is crucial. The Palestinian people have already won in a profound way. They have managed to transform the global understanding of what was once seen as a complicated conflict into a clear recognition of a corrupt and violent occupation and apartheid. A true winner never gives up, no matter what the scoreboard looks like. The Palestinian people have been up against not just one, but two major world powers, with Israel being fully backed by the United States of America. Despite this, they continue to resist and fight for their rights and humanity. So we must acknowledge the many lives lost in this struggle and vow that their sacrifices will not be in vain. We must continue to fight and win back people’s humanity. This is why I dedicate my entire life to practicing Nichiren Buddhism. Our practice teaches us this reciprocal nature of working for oneself and for others and showing how to overcome everyday challenges and ultimately winning in life. This is the essence of having the heart of a winner. It’s about resilience and hope and a relentless pursuit of justice and humanity. Our society has done its best to make it clear to me that by continuing on my own path, that all I should look forward to was a life of struggle, loneliness, and unimaginable pain.
THEY WERE WRONG.
Sure, there are many moments of struggle, loneliness and pain along the way, it’s part of the process, but the saying “count it all joy” comes to mind when i think about the price i’ve paid for the freedom i now experience and i’d pay it again and again and again.

@saveweelaunee ATLANTA: Despite numerous city council meetings with historic levels of opposition, countless mass protests, and a ballot petition campaign that collected over 116,000 signatures from Atlanta residents (1/4 registered), Mayor Dickens and his administration continue to disregard democracy and move forward with their plans to build a militarized police training facility in the Weelaunee Forest. All too willing to do the bidding of corporations, wealthy donors, and Governor Kemp, while acting against the will of the people of Atlanta.
More recently, the Atlanta Police Department conducted a brutal and violent attack and arrest of peaceful anti-war students, children and faculty at Emory University protesting for a permanent ceasefire to stop the genocide of Gaza and to Stop Cop City.
These militarized police tactics, learned in partnership with the Israel Defense Forces, are another example of the type of policing that Cop City will facilitate.
The people of Atlanta have already spoken, and they have said they don’t want Cop City.
Once again Rev. Keyanna Jones showed up for our collective futures.
