Why do it? Why deal with stress of prepping and planning? The cooking, the cleaning? Because it’s not about that. Yea, it takes work, but tell me how full your heart is during. And when everyone chats while helping you dry the dishes. Or where you spend time with your mom and daughter in the kitchen days before prepping. I know she will remember that. Repetition creates habits, and I’m glad we have a habit of being together. We feel as if something is amiss if we are not. This happens because my grandma did it, so did my mom, and now I will too. It doesn’t always have to look the same or be fancy, just do it.
My book, At the Kitchen sink is all about this. I can’t wait to share such a large part of my heart in this way, hoping it inspires others to get their loved ones together. Seeing the value in it rather than the work. Oh, and to never forget my #1 entertaining tip: always have a large industrial garbage bag on hand 💕
