My Nicholas did a Q & A with his S2C teacher @tompkinsvaleri in his @s2clasvegas session. He’s been doing so well and starting to open up! It’s truly life changing! In honor of Fire Prevention Week 2022, Pyramid Educational Consultants and the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation (AARBF), have released the N.I.C.K. (Neurotypical/diverse Independent Communication Kit) for Fire and Burn Safety Instructional Video!
Inspired by Jacqueline Laurita, mother and autism advocate, the NICK Fire & Burn Safety resources were designed
to bring fire and burn safety education to individuals on the autism spectrum, those with developmental disabilities or communication challenges, and pre-school
aged children.
Fire safety education is the first line of defense against fire fatalities and injuries. The NICK resources can be used to teach learners with limited understanding of fire safety to follow visual safety directions during an emergency.
