Liberté Chan Instagram – RECIPE ⬇️
Mushroom Hot Chocolate
* 16 ounces water
* 2 Tbsp cacao powder
* 2 1/2 Tbsp hemp seeds
* 3 Medjool dates
* 1/2 tsp (or 2 ml) Lion’s Mane
* 1/2 tsp (or 2 ml) Turkey Tail
* 1/4 tsp dried ginger
* 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Directions: Blend all ingredients. I used filtered hot water, but if you use room temperature to blend, heat it up over the stove or in a microwave after blending everything. Serve immediately and enjoy!
One of the most common questions I get asked from friends and followers: “what do you think about mushroom coffee?”
Here’s the deal. I’ve been adding medicinal mushrooms to my coffee every day, for the last eight years, but instead of using the powdered stuff, I prefer using a liquid dual-extract.
Here’s why: I’m no doctor, but research shows using a dual-extract in liquid form is one of the best ways to ingest medicinal mushrooms because it increases the bioavailability of key nutrients locked inside medicinal mushrooms. That means you absorb more of the good, healing stuff.
Plus, sometimes the powdered packs have fillers in them and/or they’re just not quite as potent as a high-quality extract.
I use dual-extracts from @fungivalleyla a small, family-owned LA-based company I discovered at a local Farmer’s Market.
Lion’s Mane turns on your brain and helps you stay focused and alert throughout the day.
Turkey Tail strengthens your immune system and is often times given to cancer patients as a supportive therapy during treatment.
At night, I add a drop of my Reishi dual-extract to my herbal tea, which helps me sleep.
My husband has a different routine since he is not a fan of coffee. Every morning, I add a few drops of Lion’s Mane and Turkey Tail to his tea, but when he doesn’t feel like drinking tea, I make him this mushroom hot chocolate.
