It is a tremendous honor to be recognized and receive the Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award for having shared my passion for food with TV audiences for over 25 years. Cooking together and sharing food remain a common denominator of all cultures. Food nurtures, it connects diverse people, and it brings families, friends and strangers together. There is no better place to be on this earth, especially in these trying times, than sharing food at a table with others. That simple idea has been the basis of my life’s work.

We had the absolute pleasure of visiting @faema_canada last week for a mouthwatering lunch demo with Chef @lidiabastianich, featuring dishes from her latest cookbook, “From Our Family Table to Yours.” 📖
Chef Lidia curated a 3-course meal including gnocchi triestini filled with @fabbricanada strawberries, lamb chops with butternut squash and Fabbri amarena cherry sauce, and a dreamy semifreddo topped with Fabbri’s sweet and spicy candied ginger; each dish was a work of art! 🔥

The good part is that you can prepare them all in advance and just pop them in the oven when your guests arrive. When making this crostini, or for that matter any crostini or bruschetta, try using whole—grain or whole—wheat bread. My grandmother always used a multigrain bread that contained some bran.
