Oooooo, this advice is so great because how many times do we get upset when things don’t go right and it ruins our day? And sometimes our week or more?
It’s easy to focus on all the things we are going to be missing out on or our mistakes but really, what will that solve? Instead, let’s take a deep breath and literally start naming off all the things that ARE going right in our lives at that moment.
It’s ok to feel disappointment but in the grand scheme of things know that this “thing” that went wrong will more likely than not be a blip in our lives.

I heard this quote some years ago when I was experiencing pain from what someone had done to me. At first I was like, “Heck no, I’m not willing to forgive.”
But as the days, weeks, and months went by, I realized that not forgiving them was eating me up inside.
It was time to be set free. I decided to go to my local church and speak to the Pastor. He was able to help me release that pain and forgive that person. As soon as I did, an overwhelming peace came over me.
I never realized how holding on to that hurt was acting like fire, burning all my joy.
Letting it go will set me free!
Today I truly feel that the light that shines through me again is because of that decision.

This weekend, I participated in my first ever @spartan race! It had actually been on my bucket list for quite some time, but I never thought I was quite ready for it.
An invitation just two weeks ago changed all that. Without overthinking it, I accepted the offer to come join my @themdkproject friends in the race, and what resulted was unexpected.
I
HAD
FUN!
The fact is, I was more ready then I thought! Because I work out regularly, I was able to fall into a groove. And having my friends alongside me where we could cheer each other on made it an awesome experience!!
Bottom line, don’t be afraid to DO HARD THINGS!
The growth is in the challenge. 💪🏼

Today I participate in my 1st ever @spartan race. I was invited to sign up only 2 weeks ago so I almost said no because I haven’t been training for it, but then I realized that success is not about winning, winning is about showing up!
So here I am. About to take off from the starting line. With 20 obstacles to face and lots of uphill running, I’m just going to take it one step at a time.
That’s life! Whatever lies ahead, may we all just show up and take it one step at a time! 🦶😉

When I think about all the times I spent worried about tomorrow and not enjoying being in the present moment, it almost sickens me. And the crazy thing is, 9 times out of 10, tomorrow always sorted itself out.
