This is not a scary post, it is just a birthday post which is almost 100% what my Instagram feed is comprised of. I apologise for being “melodramatic” but I did get a bit overwhelmed today by my love for my friend of like 25 years. I’m sorry to anyone who was upset! Ok here’s the post.
I started crying looking at pictures of you to post today. I don’t know how to express what you mean to me. You are my best friend, my soulmate. I want to tell you everything, and I want to hear every single story about everything that’s happened to you. I think the thing that sums up our friendship best is our car time, where we’ve already been at dinner for three hours but then we spend another hour and a half talking in the car when you drop me off, or on the rare occasion that I drive myself, we talk on the phone all the way home. How come we weren’t besties when we lived in the same country? Three different countries we lived in at the same time and we only knew each other a tiny bit. It feels very unfair! Anyway. A few months ago when we were both doing a thing I won’t mention #sagaftrastrong, I was in awe of your talent, your genuine and considered kindness to every person on set, your sense of humour, your incredible beauty, and your very impeccable taste in literally everything. Happy birthday to my sweet brother Josh 💖 I wish we lived closer so we could play mafia every weekend. There’s nobody more fun to watch as a mafioso. My sister “Auntie Beebu”’s partner “Auntie Lala” spent Christmas Day making a special cat cake that was free from all of my little one’s allergens, so she’d have a dessert she could actually eat. Do the melted eyes look a little terrifying? Sure! But it is so extremely cute if you focus mostly on the ears and nose and whiskers and don’t stare into its scary eyes. The cake was delicious, my daughter was so excited, and the time and care Auntie Lala took to do this for smoosh meant the world to us. Plus, my sister made me my favourite biscuits and they were absolutely amazing. I am feeling so lucky to have all this love in my life. Happy holidays everyone, I’m hoping you all have an Auntie Lala or an Auntie Beebu who does something to make you feel extra special this season 💖 (special thanks to another Auntie, my Lynnie, who hosted all of us with such love and care)
