In a city full of the best Korean, Thai, Chinese, Ethiopian, Persian (etc etc) food, Los Angeles is a barren wasteland of Indian restaurants. 😫 Well, @baarbaarlosangeles has changed all that. It’s the best Indian restaurant in the city. There, I said it. 😌 And to make it extra special for me, personally, Baar Baar’s chef/owner AND sommelier are both from Calcutta (Kolkata) where my family is from— Sujan Sarkar & Raj Parr, respectively. Really can’t say enough good things about this place, y’all. Go! STAT! You can thank me later. 😘😘 Oh and if ya go, make sure to order the: chutney set, avocado pachadi, oysters w/ caviar, dahi puri, cauliflower 65, tuna bhel, Kashmiri duck birria taco (yes, you read that right), shrimp ghee roast (to die for), and the lamb keema with the pao bread (also to die for). 🤤

It’s my favorite li’l firecracker, Miss Lekha Rowe’s 7th birthday!! Where does the time go? I vividly remember the day she was born (several days early!) back in Brooklyn, my dad & I frantically building her just-purchased stroller in the lobby of the hospital while my mama witnessed the birth of this sweet babe alongside my bro-in-law and, of course, sister. And now here we are, me and ma girl, traipsing around the Portuguese countryside, singing Christmas carols and serving LEWKS (please see above photo 😆). Love you, my sweet, smart, curious, fearless niece. Can’t see wait to see what the world has in store for you! 👯♀️🎂🎉💖
