Saransh Goila Instagram – Bafauri is a super healthy and delishaaas steamed snack popular in central Indian states of Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. Also very popular in UP it kind of reminds you of stuffing of farra, goonja or peetha. While Bafauri is made with Chana Dal in some communities they also make it with masoor and green moong in UP and Bihar. The process in Bihar differs a little as they deep fry it in Mustard Oil and many also call it Chatka. When steamed it’s usually called Bafauri. There are many similar versions of this recipe across India and it’ll be nice to hear about them from you guys and if you have memories share with us 🙂 Personally I love how simple, nutritious and delishaaas this snack made with chana dal is!!
