So thrilled that both films i scored this year have been selected for @britishfilminstitute #lff21 First up is ‘Munich – The Edge of War’ directed by the excellent @christianschwochow and starring George MacKay, Jannis Niewöhner and Jeremy Irons. This film is receiving its world premiere at #lff2021! @britishfilminstitute The process of writing this score was to dive into deepest collaboration over 8 months or so. It was experimental, and very exciting. It’s a chilling film and I’m so proud of the results. 💫💫💫

In addition to ‘Munich – The Edge of War’ A Special Presentation of #ThePhantomoftheOpen directed by the absolutely brilliant @craigroberts10, starring Mark Rylance and Sally Hawkins 💫 💫💫 I love this film with all my heart, and had the greatest time writing the music. The @philharmonia_orchestra have commissioned a new orchestral work from me 💫💫 It’s part of their excellent Human/Nature season 🌲🌳🌴🌖🌳 Performing in November @royalfestivalhall it’ll be conducted by the absolute rock star, Pekka Kuusisto! I have loved and admired Pekka’s musicianship since the very first day I saw him perform about 12 years ago. He is a musician like no other, and as well as conducting my new piece, he will be performing his own wild take on Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, complete with his own folk interludes. When Pekka first reached out to me it was honestly like getting a call from Bowie. I’m deep in research for the work and so excited to collaborate with the Philharmonia musicians. They are world class, and it is a long time dream and a privilege to be working with them, and at the Royal Festival Hall. I hope you can come to hear us live in November 🍁🍁🍁 xx ** the gentleman conducting in the photo is someone brilliant but I don’t know him – it isn’t Pekka
