We can teach you what you need to know, but we can’t teach you how you need to be. So dream big, work hard, and let your attitude shine! 💫
We were awarded medals of honor at Ellis Island. This lady spoke about my company with compliment to our services and we’ve grown in service and strength ever since. You never know when an Angel will whisper your name and the world will listen. 🙏🏾 #ellisislandmedalofhonor
Stumbled upon this behind-the-scenes snapshot from an interview done years ago with Black Enterprise Magazine… Always feeling so grateful for the opportunity to share my story when it can help teach and/or inspire others on their own journeys. 📷:@bankole3
Listen! Learn to listen!
If you want to build a lasting legacy, start by investing in your people. Nurture their talents, celebrate their successes, and watch them become the leaders of tomorrow.
You didn’t know you liked it because you’d never heard it that way…
With perseverance as your guide, every setback becomes a setup for a greater comeback.
In today’s digital age, our phones have become part of our lifeline systems. Yet, in the midst of all the emails, texts, and social media scrolling, it’s easy to forget the importance of genuine connection. Whether I’m catching up with a loved one or simply engaging in a moment to recharge, I’m reminded that the most meaningful interactions happen when we’re fully present. 💕📲
Repeat after me: “I have everything I need to be everything I need to be.” Now, say it like you MEAN it!
Gratitude is a gauge for attitude. It’s a way of life. When you approach every challenge with a thankful heart, you open yourself to boundless opportunities. When you are enriched by opportunities, your attitude gauge goes up!
In business and in life, always remember that diamonds are made under pressure. Embrace challenges, learn from them, and let them polish you to perfection.
Marian Robinson exemplified the strength, resilience, and unwavering love that so many women pour into their families every single day. She raised her children with a firm foundation of values, supported her daughter as she became a force for change in this world, and provided a comforting presence for her granddaughters during their historic years in the White House. In a role that no one could have predicted, she became a mother-in-law to a US President, showcasing the profound impact one woman can have on shaping the course of history. Her journey reminds me of the quiet sacrifices and the profound impact that women like Marian have on shaping the lives of those around them. Today, as we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate her legacy—a legacy that lives on through the countless lives she touched and the remarkable family she leaves behind. When we speak our truths, we create bonds that go beyond the surfaces and touch the souls. It’s not about having all the answers. It’s about being authentic and vulnerable.
Life isn’t about waiting for things to happen; it’s about making them happen. Take charge.
In a world filled with noise, the most powerful thing we can do is listen. When we truly listen to understand rather than respond, we can create an intentional space for genuine connection and growth.
Wake up in gratitude, go to bed in gratitude. Thank God for EVERYTHING because life is iterative. If you don’t use it, you could lose it.
#Juneteenth for me is not a celebration; rather, a commemoration of the emancipation of enslaved people in the US, at which time legislation had not yet been passed to officially recognize them as a whole people. The Fourteenth Amendment was not passed until 1868. Juneteenth was first celebrated in Texas after passage in 1862 of the Emancipation Proclamation. For me, it is a day of reflection rather than celebration. A day to assist, engage in good-doing, or simply quietly enjoy freedom. My family chooses to honor the efforts of freedom fighters past and present by reassessing and engaging in the social/civic efforts we believe work for all people. Mrs. Opal Lee, who I admire and have great affection for, gives advice to the next generation with a powerful reminder that with faith, hard work, and unity, we can create lasting good change. 🙏🏾 ✊🏾 Watch the full, powerful interview linked in my bio. Acknowledge this day in your own way, knowing that all history is American history, and together, we win as a nation.
As we enter this Memorial Day weekend, I am still so very excited and grateful for the military representation during the Ellis Island Honors. Wendy Diamond’s heart is as lovely as she is, and she supported me from nomination through walking the red carpet. Her energy is infectious and her championship of women is highly impactful! @ilovedogs_wendydiamond @billkapfer
My friend, Wendy Diamond, brings joy and wisdom to every encounter. She nominated me for the Ellis Island Honors and the ceremony offered equal doses of joy for American strength and strength of our friendship! #ellisislandmedalofhonor
In the midst of adversity, it may feel like you’re starting over from scratch, but the foundation you’ve built within yourself remains solid. As @iamjrmartinez beautifully articulated, “You’re not just starting over. You’re rebuilding something even better than what you previously had.” ✨
What are you prepared to do?
The wisdom Mama and Daddy imparted has guided me since childhood. 🙏🏾 When I faced the challenges of school integration, they taught me to reshape anger into passion.
Fatherhood and parenting come in all shapes and sizes, but the love and dedication remain the core. From the dads who brought us into this world to the bonus dads who stepped up when we needed them most and to the father figures who guided us with wisdom – today, we honor them all. Happy Father’s Day!
