Ok I got it wrong. I admit it. Told you a whopper. Said it was going to be a Phil Collins weekend (No Jacket Required*) or just do with a cardy. Foolish. Very foolish. Admittedly we got blue skies & sunshine, but also howling gales. Nothing compared to other parts of the country so I hope everyone was ok as Storm Kathleen swept across the UK & Ireland 🌊☔️⛈️🌫️ & managed to ruin quite a few people’s weekend. I ate humble pie and donned the Zara (short) fleecey jacket which did its job & gave gorgeous Honey here a run for her money. Or should that be coat? Enjoy your week. Just a soupçon of what you can expect from @the_rhs Chelsea Flower Show 2024 Don’t want to give too much away… the designers/growers/plantspeople & landscapers were busy putting the final touches to their gardens, displays & installations today. It looked heavenly- and wasn’t even finished. Big thanks to @adamfrostdesign who every year on the Saturday gives me a full brief on all the garden designs (love an expert explanation) joined by his son too Thanks to @kazuyuki.ishihara who once again has created… I’m going to stop. Wait and see!!! I’m no expert or judge but my word. There. That’s all I’m allowed to say. I always go down to the showground beforehand to see the final touches (had to stay away from the judges who were assessing) & it’s beyond impressive to watch these teams creating such magic. Not a cross word and all under enormous pressure… designers helping designers, nurserymen/women/people passing on advice & tips & taking the time to share their passion & knowledge. Girls Day Out Easter Monday get together with Mum & Sis exploring RH England – a new design concept based in the stunning countryside near Banbury – which was new to me. Think beautiful stately home setting at Aynho Park transformed into a showroom, gallery & design centre plus some gorgeous restaurants in acres of parkland. Check out those deer. First time visit for us organised by Shelley & definitely worth a look. No purchases made sadly but will be going back again. To be fair, I love my country homes & interior designs but haven’t ever seen anything like this before. What a concept!! A beautiful day out & came back truly inspired. Closest I’ll ever get to winning a Laurence Olivier Award … 🎭 Fabulous evening celebrating the very best of British theatre at @royalalberthall on Sunday night for the prestigious @olivierawards Wonderful to see the incredible @arlenephillips win a much deserved award (she stood on stage & told us she was 80… known Arlene for many years, this woman is super human). If you want to see a master class in hosting, that gong definitely goes to Hannah Waddingham who was terrific. I watched & listened in awe… Tim Francis performance from Sunset Boulevard 👏👏the camerawoman who captured the performance on the steady cam 👏👏👏👏 @nicolescherzinger’s award winning speech plus frock obvs & huge congrats to all the winners on the night.
