New beginnings require that you unlock new doors!
As we enter 2024 I see it as a doorway to whole new exciting set of experiences and positive changes. A sort of “event boundary” to divide our experiences of what was & what can be in a conscious & subconscious way.
Should doorways be closed, or left open? What are our prejudices or fears regarding closing doors on certain chapters in our life? Why do we stare so wistfully at a closed door, ignoring new ones that have opened?
Here are 10 of my favourite quotes on doors: which number is your favourite?
1. Some doors are meant to be closed- Unknown
2. Happiness sneaks in from a door you didn’t know you had left open- John Barrymore
3. Open minds lead to open doors – Unknown
4. Don’t give up, normally it’s the last key on the ring that opens the door- Paulo Coelho
5. Old ways won’t open new doors – Bryan Yager
6. The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence- Confucius
7. Close the door to the past, open the door to the future, take a deep breath.. walk through… welcome to whole new reality.
8. Often we stare so long at a closed door, that we do not see the one opened for us- Helen Keller
9. Be an opener of doors- Ralph Waldo Emerson
10. Close some doors today, not because of pride, incapacity or ignorance, but because they won’t lead anywhere – Paulo Coelho

childlike or childish?
I’ve known @beingsalmankhan since my teens.
my funniest memory is of @anasingh5 his bestie and my bestie at the time and me seeing the rushes of his film Maine Pyaar Kiya and feeling so stressed for him that a kabootar was being given so much importance in a song, and that the film might not do well.
We discussed how we had to be there for him and give him our shoulders to cry on should he need it.
Of course, the film hit box office records, we laughed at ourselves and the rest is history! The warmth, camraderie, respect and friendship has carried forward over the years.
Years later in 2005 I interviewed him on the sets of JUST POOJA my talk show on @zoomtv and many masti filled moments of the past were shared.
He’s grown from strength to strength, personally and professionally, but the most heartwarming is that he hasn’t grown up. The curious, fun, naughty, child in him is still alive and thank heavens for that!
Remember, there’s a difference in childlike and childish. May we all grow old , but never grow up!

Are you willing to step out of your comfort zone?
Is your life black & white or are you open to the many shades of grey you prefer to ignore?
Living by rigid black and white rules which dictate how you must think, behave and lead your life is the most limiting way to lead a life that should be multi-coloured.
Colours of joy, anger, fantasy, reality, love, death, success, loss, passion, boredom, excitement, adventure, laughter and tears. Colours of our differences be it ethnicities, food, cultures, architecture, ways of worship, dress and more!
But in order to live a life of colour, you need to experience and indulge the grey.
It is said that to live in the grey is to be comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty. It opens you up to new ideas, and as Roma Tearne says “Grey has the ability, that no other colour has, to make the invisible visible”.
“Grey is the color of intellect, knowledge and wisdom. It is perceived as classic, refined, dignified, and conservative. Grey is a perfect neutral that lives between the extremes of black and white.” —Unknown
It’s time to emerge from the shadows and a comfort zone that may not serve your life purpose and find your true colours.
These Moments captured so beautifully by @pinkiemakhijani
And of course…
Dearest @aafreenmakeupandhair for the “I look good effortlessly” look!!!!! 😅😍❤️

How many versions of you exist?
A passionate entrepreneur? A supportive spouse? A bewildered parent? A 3 a.m. friend? A child longing to play? A soul craving it’s connection to the universe?
How many parts of you do choose to negate as you hurry along the path of life instead of savoring your human journey?
Follow your dreams, follow your heart, and most importantly always express what should never be suppressed.
I’m loving my corporate avatar and all the joy @happysoullifestyle

Thank u @powersutra for my corporate armour. The sexiness of velvet gives a lovely touch of glam to boring suits.
@pinkiemakhijani you always Nail the moment

how do you describe yourself in 3 words?
independent, strong & dynamic are what i would choose for @kalpanalajmi
I had interviewed her on the sets of Just Pooja on zoom and there are some people who are just larger than life ….
Women like her have defied personal and professional conventions, and made a space for themselves in what was a male dominated industry.
I wish all of you the strength to hold your ground, follow your dreams, defy conventions that limit you and soar to your greatest potential.
It’s almost the end of 2023…. time to strategise the road ahead as we enter
2024!
#rip Kalpana Lajmi.
Sooooo proud and happpppy!

And also because they have pushed you into becoming who you are today!!
Let the challenging experiences of life make us better, not bitter
Let our greatest obstacles be thanked because it only made us stronger.
Our patience being tested is testimony to the fact we have patience.
Our goodness and niceness being taken for granted should remind us that it was taken for granted, not taken away from us.
Our greatest tormentors are our greatest teachers and strange as it may sound, we should be grateful to them, because of how much we learned about ourselves, and how much it challenged us to be strong and to take our lives into new directions.
I look at every debacle of my life and say WOW!! that’s what it took to get me to where i am today!
Growth is definitely uncomfortable and the process can be exhausting!
but I would despair if i would be stuck any where else in my past.
gratitude. gratitude. gratitude.
Just a Happy Soul…. on a journey to becoming the best version of me in this chosen lifetime.❤️
What’s the definition of stupidity?
To be doing the same thing and expecting different results!!!
We all have 24 hours a day and each day defines our week, and each week defines our month, and each month defines our year.
Years Zoom by and we inevitably review our life sometimes with pride, sometimes with confusion and sometimes in despair.
Your life is a series of YOUR choices. Choose differently if you want a different reality.
What are you focussing on, do you even have a focus or ambling along the journey of life?
Is your life a barren desert? a tsunami?
Are you truly happy?
Do you like your life?
Do you love your life?
Do you even love yourself?
Changing priorities is a HUGE shift and with it comes mental strength and emotional upheavals as well.
What are your priorities today?
What would you like to priorities to be?
Are YOU a priority for you?
if not, why not?
I have the questions…. you have the answers❤️
Can you see positive in a negative situation?
Everything we experience in life is a learning curve. We learn what we like, what we dislike, what to do and also what not to do.
And this is also subject to continuous change. Who disliked baingan, palak or karela when they were kids… and started to love it as adults?
Happiness is a state of mind. Shit happens to all of us, its how we respond that defines us.
Don’t dread the bad days, let these days teach you resilience, patience, clarity…. and be a good test of how positivity can help smooth the way forward to better days.
Life is so exciting in all it’s avatars.
When you look back at your collage of experiences you will thank yourself for battles fought with integrity, for your growth despite the pain of change, and for handling adversities with a smile & the courage to have benefited from it’s learnings.
it’s okay to make mistakes rather than live with a lifelong regret of not having tried.
@happysoullifestyle
It’s hard to think out of the box, to want to tread a road less followed, or to innovate, to march to the beat of your own drummer.
Societal diktats, lack of courage, fear of failure or rejection makes so many of us “suck up” , “tow the line”, be in “collusion of delusion” about how sameness is the answer (while everyone tries to outsmart, outperform, backstab and overshadow each other)
You don’t have to play the game, you can just change it.
if you look back at those who defied convention, walked the extra mile, took a leap of faith or simply indulged their passions at any cost…… they are the ones who shape the future.
There are those who make things happen, those who watch things happen and then there are those who wonder….. WTF just happened????😂
You can write your lifes’ script or be a player in someone elses.
it’s your life. You don’t need permission to live it to it’s fullest.
Game on…!!!!
Who determines what heights you can soar to?
Who told you to think small, or not to dream big, or to “know your level” and not aim to operate beyond it?
There are 4 versions of you.
1. Your public image: which is defined by other peoples take on you
2. Self-image: who you think you are
3. Actual you: the person you really are behind the delusion and programming.
4. Ideal you: the person you aspire to be.
This post is to make you aware of how amazing each one of you is, and what incredible potential you have if you just focus on knowing yourself better and filtering out all the limiting beliefs that were imposed upon you.
Of course self-imposed expectations have to be reasonable, but confidence at achieving your goal comes from being able to assess yourself with clarity & honesty.
Journaling is a wonderful tool that makes you aware, for example, as to what makes you happy and what you really value in life as well as to identify where any form of low-esteem exists and to address it.
Those with low self-esteem or self-belief are more focussed on not letting people down, pleasing people & afraid of making mistakes…. rather than focussing on turning dreams into reality.
It’s time to challenge unkind thoughts about yourself and to practice saying NO!
Write out a list of things you admire about yourself, practice positive affirmations daily like “I am growing better each day”, “I believe in myself”, “I am smart and competent”, “I am emotionally resilient” and also set boundaries with others in order to free your emotions, time and focus for what you want to achieve.
It’s time to step outside your comfort zone, celebrate your wins, and be positive.
It’s said magic happens when you believe in yourself!
It isn’t magic- it’s your potential!
@happysoullifestyle
Do you want to be your best or only just better than your competitor?
Jeff Bezos tells business owners to be customer obsessed, not competition obsessed.
Winners focus on winning because they love what they do, want to keep improving themselves and continuously raise their own bar.
On the other hand, losers focus on winners and it’s largely driven by jealousy and envy. Yup envy, which can only stunt and prevent growth.
Did you know your brain is possibly the hungriest organ in your body and consumes approximately 20% of your energy every day?
Given the fact that a lot of our brain’s energy is required to be attentive and focus…… every moment you focus on things that don’t empower you only reduces your neuroplasticity.
Intense positive focus releases dopamine which is a feel-good neurotransmitter, and additionally is powerful tool for manifestation as well.
Great time management and a relentless focus on winning an being the best you can be, is the key to a winner’s mindset.
How much time have you spent in the last 1 month thinking about the successes of others, of your competitors, of what other people are saying, about how many people followed, unfollowed, commented or liked your posts???
Versus, how much time have you spent really believing in yourself, your vision, your goals and manifesting it!!
You win in the game of life, when you are able to be your best, and not when you are dictated to or consumed by the successes of others. ❤️
@happysoullifestyle
Which is harder? Being perfect or accepting your imperfections?
As we wade, paddle, swim, surf, sail and even get marooned or nearly drown during our journey through an ocean called life, all that we seem to care about is that every time we surface is that we put our best face on.
we constantly seek to hide our sadness, our distress, our failures, our wrinkles, our cellulite, our “imperfect body shape”, our paranoias, our quirks, our lack of purpose or focus, our insecurities, our inability to be the “perfect” parent, friend, spouse, partner, boss, employee and so much more.
have you ever looked eyeball to eyeball with yourself in the mirror and had a good laugh at how utterly messed up you are, and how much you love yourself despite it?
Have you ever hugged yourself, or plunged into the waves of an ocean with a sense of elation, freedom or random happiness, not because you did something wonderful, or deserve to be happy, but simply because it’s so amazing to …. BE YOU???
we will all fall, falter, make mistakes, fall in the mud, roll in the muck…. but how many of us have the ability to get up smiling and LOVE ourselves for trying… and embrace our oddities, pecularities, emotional fractures and even our mental confusions?
YOU are special, unique and it’s only YOU who has to deal with every version of you.
how wonderful to be human, how wonderful to chase passion, vision and purpose ….. and how equally wonderful to make a glorious mess of it all.
Chasing perfection isn’t half as exciting or rewarding as loving and embracing your imperfections.
Try it!!!

too tired? not in your DNA? No one will help you? Too old? Too hot? …. what are the excuses you turn to in order to not do what might be life changing?
I loved Dr Wayne Dyers Book, “stop the excuses”, because once you’re done recognising how absurd your justifications are, it’s checkmate to inertia, fear, and possible failure.
Get out of your own way! and head to your greatest potential. You have just one life, live it, love it, explore it, maximise it and life a life of no excuses and no regrets.
If you have read any book that you feel is life changing please do share the name on this post.
wish all of you a life that only goes from strength to strength.
