I find power in the idea that certain people only know what I choose to allow them to see about myself. There are few people who get 100% access to me. As I get older I get more and more protective of my energy. I used to allow everyone access to the deepest parts of me only to find myself in a puddle of disappointment, distrust & anxiety. I don’t trust easily, but when I do, know that it’s full of loving, pure, genuine intentions. Not to say that I don’t enjoy socializing and meeting new people. I do. I’m somewhat of an introverted extrovert and I’ve learned to embrace that. When I love, I love deeply. I’ve let too many situations and people drain me to my core, to the point of me not even recognizing my own reflection in the mirror.
