Scenes from the Kitchen Bar @chefandthefarmer last weekend. It was great. Now I’m beat! Can’t wait to do it again in July.. I see lots of tomatoes, peaches and watermelon in my future.

Written in memoir-style, Inez recounts her and Stephen’s journey as restaurateurs and the profound impact hospitality has had on their community. Each chapter is followed by Stephen’s tried-and-true recipes spotlighting On the Square crowd-pleasers and favorites from their home kitchen. Pre-order your copy at link in bio.

Here I am again, pouring my heart out in @gardenandgun. This time about reopening @chefandthefarmer on my own terms. In case it’s not obvious, I’m so proud of the Kitchen Bar. And I’m having the best time.
For your Sunday reading pleasure, my latest Country Accent in @gardenandgun is now online. “So yes, perhaps some things have remained the same in Deep Run, but I was still hell-bent on highlighting the ways our community used to be more connected; how we just naturally acted more hospitable, kind, and generous with one another. And how those interactions had made living in a place without sidewalks, parks, or population worth it. It was a different time, and I was prepared to sneeze nostalgia all over it to prove a point to my twins.”

Another Weekend at Viv’s in the books. I love hosting and cooking and teaching and Bald Head Island — that’s why I decided to do these workshops. But what I love even more is leaving each weekend with so many new friends. You all make this experience so amazing by bringing so much of yourselves to it. Thanks for taking a chance on this experience! You’re the reason we do what we do. As always, a huge shoutout to our partners (@branchhomedesign, @smitheyironware, @haandemade, @cicil.home) for helping us pull off these weekends. @mametown, thanks for joining us this weekend and keeping the party going strong. And to my team, what would I do without you? Let’s do it again next month. @kaliwiththekeys @baxmiller @ryanstancil @bnjrkate There’s still time if you want to join us for October as we have just a few more seats left. Has anyone else become an accidental collector of things? Because it really snuck up on me. “All of a sudden, I realized that I already am a collector, one so deeply entrenched I couldn’t see the forest for the pile of enamel utility pans I have cobbled together over the years. I had failed to recognize the bowl of Theo and Flo’s baby teeth, mixed with crystals and a small but growing selection of shark teeth, as the trinket chest it so obviously is. I had chosen to overlook the fact that the decorative walls, wine shelves, and more I have built over the years out of old tobacco sticks—an homage to my heritage—counted.”
My love for muscadines runs deep. Recently chatted with @foodprintorg and one of my takeaways: plant a muscadine vine. Check it out at link in bio 🍇
