Appreciation… so many know that I’ve lost my father the Christmas before last. This last year, this process, this is something I’d go through by myself. These days I try to fight internally. I know to many of you it seems not healthy, but there were so many of you that have reached out, #kaniacs and people that have wished me well. Many to say, I hope you’re OK, but so many said they were going through a similar situation, so I felt a need to reach out. What do I do in this situation? You guys have always had my back. So… with the power you’ve invested in me, I want to share what I do. When you’re in your head, and the road you’re on seems a bit clouded, and the vision is not yours, get in the car/truck by yourself and pour a fuck load of gasoline on a bunch of horses and drive through it. I’ve done this for years and it has always made me see clearer. Im ok! My wish now for you guys in 22 is that you are too. We’ve been hurting and struggling these past few years, some with no consideration or help or understanding from others. For those who can… talk to someone. They will listen. For those who can’t. Put the fuckin pedal down. You’re not driving away from your life, you’re racing into this year. I love you all. You’ve not only given me a life but you’ve made it better. Though we don’t talk, I hear your voices and have smiled, laughed, and cried with you. Here we go folks. It’s up to us. We start now!

Wanted to talk about this kid, Tate Myre for a while but couldn’t find the words. But I’m going to give it a shot because it weighs heavy on my heart and some of you have stated the same. You know, I go to work and I put on different hats, people filter in the smoke and set up mirrors, and I get to step into the shoes of someone I really love and play Eliot Spencer. I get to be an unlikely hero. When I heard his story one of the first things I could say after feeling what we all felt and drying my eyes was “This guy is a true hero, he’s the real Eliot Spencer” he didn’t take off his cape at the end of the day. Talking to my friends, some you know, some you don’t, we all agreed that we just pray we could have an ounce of what he had when faced with a situation like that. My heart goes out to his family and the families of Madisyn Baldwin, Hana St Juliana, and Justin Shilling. I’m still not sure if I found the right words but I knew some time had gone by and a few of you were hurting like a lot of folks. I thought it might be nice to honor and remember him this weekend over family and football. He loved both as well. I hope I get to meet you one day Tate…. I’d like to shake your hand.

PLEASE HELP!! This is our stage in the Philippines where we filmed #AlmostParadise. While the typhoon damage was terrible, it pales in comparison to the hardships the people are now facing. Please join @officialdeandevlin and I by giving what you can: yacap.org/relief/ and my prayers are with my friends and family and all of the Filipino people who are still without power, water, and communications at this time when we should be celebrating with family. I know these past few years have been unkind to everyone, but in a time of giving, even just a small amount with go so much further in this country filled with some of the most loving people I’ve ever met. It breaks my heart to look at this photo where, for a while, we all lived together, ate together, and laid our heads as we were making art, but the devastation over the entire country trumps this photo.
