DTM 2023 is done, but not before battles so close that I burnt my Ferrari’s nose on our rivals exhaust pipes!🧯 This weekend was typical GT3 wheel-to-wheel action, which Hockenheim always caters to quite well. We suffered a lot in the very sharp, low speed hairpins, but were quick elsewhere on the lap which made for pretty dynamic racing. I took to the grass more than a few times, not for fun, but because our overtaking options were so limited. But I love that kind of problem solving in the car! The results were just ‘ok’, a 7th and a 10th, but the way we achieved them was simply lovely as some say. And a big congratulations to the @emil_frey_racing pit crew, who not only set the fastest pitstop of the year this weekend, but were crowned Pitstop Challenge champions in their debut year! 🙌🏼 Many of you have already asked about next year, and I would love to return. It depends on a few things, but keep an eye out for news soon. ☺️

The streets of Detroit bit hard, heavy contact with walls, cars, we were lucky to come through and survive on our way to P6! Plenty of hard battling with it being a sprint around a street circuit where overtaking never comes without some risk, but it was rewarding, and plenty learned yesterday afternoon. We took a while to find our groove this weekend, and a lack of pace early on combined with a rare mishap from Pipo in qualifying had us starting plum last. Due to that, we tried an alternative strategy hoping for a caution that didn’t quite come at the right time. At this point (halfway in the race) we were staring down the barrel of a last or near-last finish. Luckily we chased down the pack with the help of some cautions, and were able to get back into the thick of it. I never think of it as fighting for P6, P8 or whatever, it’s fighting for the championship. Every point counts here, and the bad days are where you can really unravel. As it is, we’re still in the hunt. Big thanks and pat on the back as always to the whole @whelenmotorsports @cadillacvseries crew, and @pipoderani. #BeIconic #CadillacRacing 📸 @bcpix
Coming away from Norisring with another Pole and a handful of points, a massive improvement from last year, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say we were frustrated with the weekend. Another topsy-turvy wet race that we didn’t quite get right from the lead on Saturday was the crux of that, but we’ve had worse weekends! Plus, I did indeed kill wing mirrors and make track rods cower, but not crack, around these wonderful streets. ☺️ 📸 @gruppec_photography
