His deep, husky voice, his infectious facial expressions and his rugged disposition made him a perfect cast in the Action film genre. Junior Pope always delivered a believable performance whenever he played in an action movie. Thank you for lighting up our screens with your craft and talent, brother. And thank you for being such a respectful young man. It’s a standing ovation for Junior Pope! Rest in Power 🙏🏽
ISSAKABA!!! The Myth returns. A RIVER DOES NOT FLOW THROUGH A FOREST WITHOUT BRINGING DOWN TREES. Men with evil minds lurk in the dark. But….. JUSTICE IS MINE!!!
Eeassy……like Sunday morning.
Did you know that John Okafor [Mr. IBU] was in the cast of ISSAKABA 23 years ago? He played the character of Amazuru, a close friend of Ebube. He was the young man who was sent to invite the ISSAKABA Squad from Ayaba. My dear friend, I still can’t forget how hard you made me laugh each time we sat and chatted on that location at Ngwo, that quiet hilltop town in Enugu. It’s been 23 years ago and I still laugh so hard at some of those jokes! You it was who introduced the delicious Enugu delicacy of hot Okpa and chilled Coke to me at Ngwo. You called it “Combined Honours” Remembering you will always bring us joy and laughter, so you will forever be remembered. Take a bow, John Okafor. It’s a standing ovation for you!!! #issakabathemovie

90 years!!! 90 nautical salutations to a rugged, weather beaten, typhoon blasted, ancient navigator and time tested Master Mariner of the high seas. @wolesoyinka May the strong winds of the Cyclone continue to favour your sails. May the tidal waves lead you to the shores of the Island of Tortuga. Derio to your bones!!! ICHBW

This month in history[23rd February, 1966] The declaration of the Niger Delta Republic and revolution by the minority peoples of the Niger Delta region of Nigeria against exploitation and oppression. Addressing youths in the creeks of Ton ton ba, former President of the Students Union of the University of Nigeria and leader of the revolution, declared: “Today is a great day in history of the Niger Delta….not because we are going to bring the heavens down, but because we are going to demonstrate to the world how we feel about oppression. Remember your 70 year old grandmother who still farms before she eats. Remember your poverty-stricken people. And then remember your petroleum which is being pumped out daily from your veins, and fight for your freedom” He was named ISAAC ADAKA BORO [The Mysterious Crocodile of the Mangrove Swamps] He was only 27 years old.

Today in history – 15th January, 1966: The revolution of Nigeria’s five radical, headstrong army Majors, led by the charismatic, irrepressible Major Patrick Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu. He was just 29 years! His broadcast to Nigeria at 6am, 15th January, 1965, read in part: The aim of the Revolution…. “…..is to establish a strong, united and prosperous nation, free from corruption and internal strife. Our method of achieving this is strictly military. Our enemies are the political profiteers, the swindlers, the men in high and low places…..those who seek to keep the country divided permanently so that they can remain in office…..those that make the country look big for nothing before International circles, those that have corrupted our society and put the Nigerian political calendar back by their words and deeds….” Several decades after…. Nothing has changed. Nothing. If you know your history, then you will know where you are coming from. Do you know your history?
Miebaka Denzel[Washington] Sam Dede.🏀👍🏿 Happy birthday, Son. Excellent health Bigger things coming your way. Blessup 👍🏿
One of the most intriguing memoirs capturing the period of Nigeria’s first military coup leading to the civil war, Wole Soyinka’s THE MAN DIED, adapted for the screen. Such an honour for me to be part of putting history in proper context through this game changing Biopic. Directed by Awam Amkpa @amkpa
Oh no, brother….. This is just too shocking to the bone. What about the dreams we shared? What about the dreams to ignite the potentials of Africa for prosperity? What about the plan to raise Africa’s generation of fearless leaders at Wigwe University? What about our vision of our continent as the next frontier? What about the strategic, positive disruptions planned for Africa’s creative economy? What about the the futuristic innovations already envisioned for the banking sector? Too many questions to find answers to, brother….. But the dream will never die. We remain fearless. RiP Dr. Herbert Wigwe. Fearless son of Africa.
Good people, positive networking, creative ideas at the NIAGARA CANADA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, Ontario, Canada. The best is yet to come….. @niagaracanadafilmfestival @michaelangelomcfly
Today in history, 5th July: As the youths of Kenya stand up against disguised imperialism in the form of an IMF-instigated tax reform, the words of an Awakened Son of Africa come to mind: “WE WILL NEVER, NEVER, SELL OUR FREEDOM FOR CAPITAL OR TECHNICAL AID. WE STAND FOR FREEDOM….. AT ANY COST.” Brilliant, articulate, Oxford trained irrepressible African independence hero, TOM MBOYA, brutally assassinated on the streets of Nairobi, Kenya, 55 years today, 5th July. He was only 38 years old! Do you have role models? Who are they?
An extremely resounding component of Bob Marley’s music – indeed, Reggae music, is the Bassline. One man completely radicalised the form, texture and feel of bass in Reggae music, especially the Roots and Culture sub genre. An original member of The Wailers, his incredibly unique use of the Bass Guitar clustered and harmonized every single instrument and rhythms into one melodious Nyabinghi family. Just one more reason why he was fondly called, “Family Man”. The Bassline will always reverberate in our subconscious…… Rest in Power ASTON FRANCIS “FAMILY MAN” BARRETT. @bobmarley @petertosh @bunnywailerarchives
Thank you for lighting up our cinema screens with the characters you brought to life through profound exceptional acting…… – El Diablo – An Officer and a Gentleman – The Color Purple – Roots….. “Fiddler” the man who adopted and nurtured Kunta Kinte into a man. “LIFE’S MOST PERSISTENT AND URGENT QUESTION IS: WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR OTHERS?” – The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther king [MLK] Indeed, what are you doing for others…. WITHOUT ANNOUNCING AND BRAGGING ABOUT IT TO THE WORLD??? It doesn’t have to be physical or monetary…. It could be a gentle piece of advice. A nice word of encouragement. Or just a well meaning smile and a nod. You know, It’s just so Eeassy…..like Sunday morning. SDX😎👍🏿
