Ok I gotta say it. As a full time security professional for over a decade this is unacceptable. The failures that allowed a former president to be shot, a spectator to be killed and two others seriously injured are hard for me to comprehend. 140 yards is outside the “security perimeter? I’m sorry but that’s not how guns work. Let me state a hard fact here. This was a lone wolf 20 year old kid who looked like “Timmy” from South Park. He was untrained, not “state sponsored” and not equipped well at all and he almost killed the former President of the US. Imagine had it not just been 1 shooter and/or had they been trained and much better equipped.. Stopping this should have been the tactical equivalent of a lay up. I have worked with the Secret Service and I know there are good talented people there so I’m betting this is a massive failure of the bureaucracy of the organization as a whole. That being said there were individual actions that are on camera that were shocking to me. I won’t mention them specifically to dime people out but wow if you are going to do that job you better take it seriously which means you better train to do it not just look cool in a suit and sunglasses. If there is a Secret Service member or office reading this I volunteer to train your agents/agency for free just say the word and I’ll put my money where my mouth is. I grew up watching love stories in movies and thinking that’s what love was. For a long time I didn’t think I would ever experience it and even once I did, I thought that that kind of love just wasn’t possible and didn’t exist. I thought that love was compromise and to have it meant you had to give up something else. Meeting this woman right here showed me that I was so completely wrong about so many things. Not only did love exist like in the movies but she has also taught me that I didn’t need to sacrifice or compromise anything. The only things I did need to let go of was the beliefs and misconceptions I had that were limiting me. She is the strongest woman I have ever known. I fully believe she is stronger than me and I mean that both mentally and physically and I think that is great. It just makes push myself. She truly makes me work harder at everything. Meeting her made me want to be a better man. Cristiane, it’s hard to write things as words fail to capture my feelings for you but I will do my best. You are the most amazing person I have ever met and everyday I am in awe of you. You work so hard everyday on accomplishing your goals that it motivates me to work harder in mine. You are such a giving person to everyone around you including strangers. You are sweet and understanding and yet you have very strong boundaries and will not tolerate someone crossing them. From the very beginning, being with you was so easy that I quite frankly thought that something must be wrong. I didn’t believe that a relationship could be so easy and so I held back assuming that the other shoe would fall. Now I realize that when you find the right person it can be that easy. I got so lucky that I found you and to those reading this please trust me when I say your someone is out there. I had given up on love and was preparing to be alone for the rest of my life. I wasn’t happy with that but I had accepted it. Maybe that is when the universe or God puts that someone in your life. Thank you for being you and committing to us. I couldn’t be more excited about our future together. You are the love of my life and the Bonnie to my Clyde.

Suicide Squad 2015. I’m the only person dumb enough to wear a real helmet for a super hero movie..! This was a lot of fun working on this film but it was also one of the darkest times of my life. That being said it was the first time I chose to truly pursue my dreams and commit to them. I cannot stress enough how much I am happy that I chose that over comfort. It hasn’t been easy but it HAS been worth it. This same fork in the road has come up again and again and I keep choosing the more difficult path and it keeps leading me closer to what I’ve always wanted. I don’t know what your dreams are but I can tell you that whenever that fork in the road happens, chose the path that leads you closer to them. In my experience you will never regret it no matter where it leads. Have a great end of the week everyone!
I’ve posted about Operation Gothic Serpent in Somalia many times over the past decade I’ve been on this platform. But the story isn’t of an operation or of a country it’s of the people that were there. This is @tomsatterly who is a legendary operator, to me even more for what he is doing now than what he did when he is in. He lived that day 30 years ago and talks about it on the @shawnryanshow recently. If you haven’t listened to it go check it out now. He is doing truly great things now with his organization: @allsecurefoundation and I was lucky enough to sit down with him and his wife recently and talk various topics to include transitioning and veteran mental health. 30 years ago today wow, I remember when I joined and that operation had taken place over 5 years ago and to me at the time it felt like 1993 was 30 years ago. Your perspective of time will GREATLY change over the course of it so don’t waste a single minute.
Ok the director of USSS needs to go as it is VERY obvious that she has no idea what she is doing and absolutely no idea what she is talking about. I present her statement as Exhibit A. Here is her quote: “That building in particular has a sloped roof at its highest point. And so, you know, there’s a safety factor that would be considered there that we wouldn’t want to put somebody up on a sloped roof. Exhibit B are these photos which show first HER sniper team ON A SLOPED roof!!! She made that claim when there are photos EVERYWHERE showing her other team on a sloped roof that by the way is even more sloped than the building in question!! Exhibit C the picture of the shooters building! It is barely sloped! Much less than the building the guys are on in the other picture! Do not let them say things that are simply attempts to manipulate perception. Here in plain view is proof that this woman is not only incompetent but thinks this country isn’t smart enough to see the web of deception she is weaving. Here is a novel idea: say you messed up. Say you’ll fix it and then fix it. To claim it was a safety issue that a team wasn’t there is pathetic. Repost this let’s call out this incompetent excuse for a leader.

Season 7 airing on Paramount starting Aug 11th! It was a long ride and I learned so much during those 7 years both about filming and about myself. This was one of my favorite days on location as I’m so happy she got to come check out a day (night) on set! Very excited for people to see the final season I hope people enjoy the end of this long journey! I hope everyone has a great weekend!
Been awhile since I’ve posted and the reason is: It’s been a VERY rough couple of months with this strike in Hollywood. It has cost me a lot and a lot more than just money. That being said I have also learned a lot and many things that I don’t think I would have learned any other way. As bad as this situation is and has been, I won’t die from it so in the grand scheme of life it won’t matter. I say all this because even know that it is very hard to not stress in the present even when you know it will be ok. I’m working on that. The reason for this post is to say: Stop judging yourself. For months I’ve been saying mean things to myself about “how did I not see this coming”, “I should have done this or that” etc. You did the best you could at the time with the information at the time. Period. So take it easy on yourself when you make mistakes. Lastly: so what does this post have to do with the photo? Nothing, I just thought it was a good picture. 🤷♂️ Have a great weekend!
I’m smiling not because my life is perfect but because I accept that it never will be. I have so many things I am grateful for and the things I want to change I am working on. I have finally found what I was searching for my whole life and every morning I wake up thankful. I still have a long way to go to get where I want to be but at this point I understand that it’s the journey that IS life not arriving at the destination. Like any journey what’s important is less where you go and much more who you go with. On that note make sure you chose wisely and most importantly make sure you are the one choosing rather than just being chosen and going along for the ride. Our thoughts create our environment. We aren’t what we eat, we are what we think. I can promise anyone reading this that I used to think negatively almost exclusively and my life reflected that pattern of thinking. Today I think positively and as a result my reality is dramatically different. The woman to my left made me aware and helped me change that and I will be forever grateful. So this post hopefully leads someone down the path I was led down which is: change your thoughts to change your life. It works I promise you!! On a side note, when your partner is super healthy and in shape you gotta step up your game so I’m working on it. My goal is to get in the best shape of my life! Oh and one last thing: I do not and will not EVER use AI to write anything on here or do I edit anything or use filters. I believe to connect as humans we can’t filter ourselves nor have a machine be the communicator. No issue with other people doing it but if I post something I wrote it and I’m not editing my reality other than by the obvious way of what I choose to post or not. I have my bad days too and if I don’t post them constantly it’s only because I try and focus on the positive now it’s not because I don’t have them. Here are some images of the stuff in the next raffle. Don’t miss your change these swords are ACTUAL Samurai swords with papers from Japan. If you don’t know the story of Japanese swords from WWII then you need to look it up as it is fascinating. In short: WWII officers and senior enlisted were required to carry swords. If you had a family heirloom AKA passed down blade you got the fitted in WWII koserai (grip, suba, sheath) then went to war. After the war the US started destroying all the swords until some Japanese scholars convinced a U.S. general that they weren’t just “weapons of war” they were culturally significant works of history and art. The general agreed to not destroy the swords on the condition they couldn’t stay in Japan. Therefore every GI was allowed to take a sword or simila. What most US soldiers did not know was that some of these swords had blades that were passed down some for over a 1000 years. That is why there are 1000’s of real Samurai swords in the United States and Britain the vast majority brought in somewhat accidentally after the Great War. This captured my imagination and I spent a lot of time and money according these amazing works of art. Of note I am not a historian and that is my brief explanation of the past which I have no doubt is somewhat different from what actually happened. I am a storyteller not a history teacher so please don’t take every detail as fact. What is a fact is that every Samurai piece is truly amazing and when you see the hand made craftsmanship up close it will amaze you I promise.
So this is something cool. It is an E&E kit that was issued to me by my unit and has a lot of stuff in it for the size. I had another one that I used but this one is brand new.
