Very happy and proud to announce the release of a project named KANDAHAR I worked on with my brother: @ric.roman.waugh The film is like a rocket blast so just sit down and strap in! Filming in Saudi Arabia was an amazing experience and therefore most of the places in the film few in the US has ever seen. It is beautiful and the scope is LARGE. It was an honor to work with so many talented crew members and obviously a cast that is full of true movie stars who are stars not just because of talent but also a work ethic within that allowed a film like this to be made. Memorial Day Weekend this is one you gotta see on a big screen, trust me on this. Update: I’m the guy who posts a movie and says go see it, then sees someone else’s repost of my post and they did something I didn’t…The name of the movie… See it’s genius additions and feedback like this that I appreciate from people. This is a picture of my me when I was a sniper team leader which means: less shooting, more radio talking. This picture was our Afghanistan train up in Yakima WA. This trip was probably the happiest I ever was in the military. I was at that point where you know so many people because no one has hit their ETS dates. I was also an E5 which was the perfect rank: in charge of 4 and not yet dealing with any politics. Speaking of politics: I don’t post any on social media. It’s not that I am unaware, it’s that I believe the intent is creating conflict between the classes that aren’t at the top. Ok the director of USSS needs to go as it is VERY obvious that she has no idea what she is doing and absolutely no idea what she is talking about. I present her statement as Exhibit A. Here is her quote: “That building in particular has a sloped roof at its highest point. And so, you know, there’s a safety factor that would be considered there that we wouldn’t want to put somebody up on a sloped roof. Exhibit B are these photos which show first HER sniper team ON A SLOPED roof!!! She made that claim when there are photos EVERYWHERE showing her other team on a sloped roof that by the way is even more sloped than the building in question!! Exhibit C the picture of the shooters building! It is barely sloped! Much less than the building the guys are on in the other picture! Do not let them say things that are simply attempts to manipulate perception. Here in plain view is proof that this woman is not only incompetent but thinks this country isn’t smart enough to see the web of deception she is weaving. Here is a novel idea: say you messed up. Say you’ll fix it and then fix it. To claim it was a safety issue that a team wasn’t there is pathetic. Repost this let’s call out this incompetent excuse for a leader.

My life has changed so dramatically in the last year-ish that it’s hard for me to explain. That being said the change started about 2 years ago when I spent 60 days doing nothing but working on myself. I learned a lot and then the more I kept digging the more I found that I didn’t really know about myself. That started a long process of actively being aware of the things I learned and then changing them to get a different result than before. I can’t recommend taking some time to do nothing but work on the relationship with the most important person in your life: you. The saying: “you can’t love anyone else until you love yourself”, is so true I couldn’t agree more. If you take nothing else from this post take this: if you want something different in your life you have to do things differently. What you have always done is what got you where you are. Don’t get me wrong, I still have a lot of work to do and things to change but I know now that the power to change your reality is within you. We are not people who merely react to reality but rather the people who create it. Obviously no, you can’t create or un create an earthquake but most things we have a part in and once realized that’s powerful. There is only one person in the world responsible for your happiness and that’s obviously you. So take charge of your life and start creating the one you want to live. For me it all started just realizing that we already have this inside us. Yes it is a little touchy feely so I fought it for a long time but results are hard to argue with. Happy Memorial Day. I’ve posted the people I knew well and luckily for me there hasn’t been anyone I have known recently pass. So I’m posting this image of section 60. For those that don’t know: Section 60 of Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia is where those who were in OEF and OIF are buried. Previously those buried in Arlington at least to me seemed rather random as you would have someone from WWI next to someone from WWII etc. Section 60 is all OEF and OIF which is good in the sense that it’s a section dedicated to one group of people but it does have a down side. I was leaving years ago after visiting a grave of someone I knew well and while going through it I was shocked at how many names I knew. I think I spent another 2 hours there after thinking I was leaving. This holiday and how I feel about it changes every year. The strange part about it that I keep thinking about is that the people that it’s actually for aren’t here so I feel guilty even being able to write this. What can I say that does service to the sacrifice? Nothing. Yet silence isn’t service, in fact it’s the opposite so I guess all I can say is: thanks and I wish you were here.
This picture is from awhile back but I don’t think I ever posted it. This was Clint Eastwoods .44 Magnum (Model 29) from “Dirty Harry”. I believe this gun was from the second movie specifically. I love movie props as I believe that goes along with my love of cinema. Sometimes you see a prop in person and are underwhelmed but not if you are at Mike Papac’s shop. This is one of his relics and every one has a great story attached to it. Speaking of: Stories are to me what this business is about and that all starts with writing. Hopefully this strike gets resolved quickly so we can all go back to doing our part in the storytelling process. Have a good week.

I believe many people will be able to relate and I hope that me talking about mine and how I got through them will help others. This Podcast is the first time since my documentary that my diary footage from many years ago is being used which I never thought anyone would ever see. That same day Monday June 5, my website will finally go live that I have been thinking about and working on for at least 7 years. Through the website I will be offering: coaching, speaking events, workshops, online classes as well as my own podcast as well as another podcast I will cohost specifically about relationships. People have asked me about this for years and it’s always been something I have wanted to do. So why now? Because I finally figured out the last barrier to what I wanted in life: myself. I am finally getting out of my own way and since I have started that about a year ago my whole life has changed. Now I want to not just tell people how I did it for myself but show people how they can do it for themselves. More information to follow everyone have a great weekend!

A bunch of people (basically 1) have asked me what I am up to which is fair as I guess I haven’t posted much. I am busy writing right now with details to follow on that. I have also been trying a new thing called: “enjoying life”.. I’m half joking and half serious. I’ve really been having a great time with people close to me and that is something that I don’t think I did enough of in the past. I used to live for tomorrow rather than today. The second picture was this morning and I thought it was fitting that it seemed to match my mood. I did do a couple of podcasts that I will post over the next few days. Oh and there is a new raffle coming up as the first was so much fun and my getting rid of things I don’t use mentality has increased. This will be the final pieces of my kit as well as some literal artifacts from another era.. More to follow. Hope everyone is having a great weekend! There are people I miss daily and this guy to my left is one of them. I will never forget going and running through The Void Star Wars Experience prior to COVID killing it. I don’t think the simulation was designed for two actual operators but both of us walked out of this and said the same thing: “this is the future of training”. The world is going to start changing faster and faster and though we may not be comfortable with that-it won’t slow down. One day soon I hope I get my friend back from a life of service, if I told his story no one would believe it and if you met him you’d never know. I am lucky enough to know people who are true heroes and I try and use them as examples in my own life everyday. Some people are truly one of a kind and when you find someone like that: treat them accordingly. Have a great weekend!

Happened to run into him at SHOT show years ago 2015ish and asked his opinion on a couple security matters then we all took this picture. It’s always amazing to me the difference between how people are in person versus the mystique or image of them created by society/themselves a PR team etc. I’m sure at this point many are wondering who he even is. He is a Former SEAL named Eric Prince and he started a company called: Blackwater. It would be hard to over state the impact his company (and several others) had on the SOF community. War will never be the same or in reality modern PMCs made war closer to what it used to be as there are 100’s of historical examples of the use of mercenaries.

Happy Mother’s Day mom! I am happy that I had a recent picture of you on my phone that I could post! I always try and give some kind of thought or take away when I post so here goes. Being a mother is…. Well I have no idea obviously so screw it no bigger thought, take away or message other than this: I do know that I’m glad I had you as my mom. You worked very hard to give us the best childhood you could while also working full time and then not long after doing all that while also going to school full time for a degree then a Masters. I don’t know how you did it all as I still can’t balance work and just one other thing! Enjoy your special day I hope it is very relaxing as opposed to the days when you had two young boys running around shooting at each other with BB guns! I love and appreciate you Mom; Happy Mothers Day.

I don’t care what your musical taste is you need to go watch this video: Ren “Hi Ren”. I had no idea who this guy was but I can tell you that I almost cried watching this video and it shows a level of talent and creativity that is impressive. But that’s not why you should watch it. You should watch it because what “everyone” in the video says is something you have said to yourself in one way, shape or form. I had played this video about 30 times in the last 24 hours and I can tell you it will make me a better artist, performer and person. Loftily you think? Watch the video all the way through then judge. It is Mental Health awareness month and I didn’t really know what to post in reference to that till now. I emphatically choose this video. There are so many creative things from a directing/acting/cinematography side I don’t know where to begin. I’m not qualified to really dig into the musical side but from what I am aware of the same level of creativity is there and this combination of musical theater is a level of art I have not EVER seen. Similar maybe but not this in-depth and definitely not as good. Side note: I have watched other videos of this guy and I honestly don’t know what genre to put him and I think that is as big of compliment you can give an artist.
