🤸 Here we see the future Olympians of Tchimpounga training for their gymnastic trials. Of all the Olympic events, we believe this is where chimpanzees would shine the brightest. ✨
Even at just a few months old, an infant chimpanzee has a grip strong enough to fully support its own weight. As they grow and become more independent, these agile acrobats hone their strength and stamina by jumping between trees to avoid predators, traversing precarious landscape in search of food, and even hanging upside down with a single foot for reasons we humans can’t explain!
Whether it’s the uneven bars, pommel horse, or still rings, when witnessing this young group of chimpanzees display their acrobatic skills, there’s no doubt—they would take home the gold! 🏅
