Jane Goodall Instagram – “If you’ve heard this story before, well that’s too bad,” Dr. Jane Goodall said with a twinkle in her eye to a packed auditorium at Seattle’s Moore Theater. Dr. Goodall went on to explain that in indigenous American tribes, stories are often told over and over again, becoming a source of comfort and familiar knowledge. She expressed her appreciation for this tradition and joked that if anyone in the audience didn’t like it, “too bad,” as she would be sharing her familiar stories tonight and throughout her tour — she’s currently traveling the world in celebration of her 90th birthday. As Jane tells us, stories create a sense of community and connection to each other. This humorous anecdote from Jane was a powerful reminder that stories have the ability to transcend time and culture, bringing people together and providing comfort and inspiration.
